Guest mrsvic Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Brrr... bit nippy out isn't it? Nearly time to start turning over the garden, lock up the greenhouse and get inside the house with the heating on...The state, however, has other plans... for our enjoyment they have chosen this chilly time of year for the annual Heritage Open Days... great for hanging about castles, churches and historical fields while giving your scarf the first airing of the year... oh, and they are all FREE!Bedlington's offerings this year appear in the guise of a Rock Art display, a tour of the Ironworks, a talk on the town, some landscape pictures and St Cuthberts being open... warmer than some of the events in Ashington, but they've got one of Lindisfarne appearing... and Morpeth have secured John Grundy of Grundy's Wonders fame... again, Bedlington has lost out to the greats...Anyway, if you do make it out anywhere, let us know what it was like...I would thoroughly recommend Newcastle Keep, which had a great do on with a medieval re-enactment, and Bothal Church which did a super scone...
Andy Millne Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Thanks mrsvic. It's going to be a busy week in Bedlington.
