Andy Millne Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I've just posted an article with a detailed route map to the news pages.http://www.bedlington.co.uk/2009/12/new-cycle-routes-for-bedlington/Bedlington.co.uk members will be given the opportunity in the new year to have a say in the how the later stages will progress.
angechica Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 good news. Hoping this will make Gallager Park more accessible for pushchairs. Maybe they'll even think about putting some playground stuff in for littlies.
Andy Millne Posted December 23, 2009 Author Report Posted December 23, 2009 Maybe they'll even think about putting some playground stuff in for littlies. What do you mean by playground stuff for the littlies? I can't think of what is currently there in the small playground area but is that more aimed at older kids than you had in mind? The work on the cycle track is completely seperate to the park itself but there is quite an active group campaigning for more facilities at Gallagher Park. http://friendsofgallagherpark.ning.com/
Malcolm Robinson Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 The new bridge linking the Bedlington routes with those at Cramlington will be pretty exciting if it does go ahead in the style suggested. Our own Millennium Bridge…….
Mr Darn Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 I see its taking on part of the old 45minute "Circular Walk". i tried to walk that path a few weeks ago and it was vurtually impassable along the stretch they are planning on developing, so it'll be a welcome upgrade.
Andy Millne Posted December 24, 2009 Author Report Posted December 24, 2009 My main query surrounds the section up Church Lane. That road is already quite awkward by car so would the footpath be widened? what about the section on the corner of the old school where the footpath tapers down to practically nothing?
Owen Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 great to hear, the "black path" is in need of serouis repair work.and i wonder if they sort the flooding issuie whiles there at it, the path floods behind the hartlands estate, on the football field making people walk around the muddy foot ball pitch, seems bit daft to relay a new path for it to get ruined again.all it would take is a digger to make a trench along side to the alread exsiting drain farer down near the cemertery.
