Adam Hogg Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 I think the EU's arguement is out the window now. Just what i have been saying the future of Energy round the world can't live without it.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-20383177
threegee Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Only Germany can't live without it due to their stupidity backing out of modern nuclear. If there really was any nuclear risk then it's still there, it's just that the nuclear is now on the other side of their borders, run by people they can't properly monitor. Pure politics! And - in burning dirty opencast lignite - how are they going to meet their pollution targets? There still is a place for coal, but it's too valuable to blow straight up a chimney.
Adam Hogg Posted November 18, 2012 Author Report Posted November 18, 2012 There still is a place for coal, but it's too valuable to blow straight up a chimney.Very true, a coke works at Blaydon Burn used to use the waste heat for the coke works to produce Electricity, another near Swalwell used to send surplus Electricity to the nearby colliery and surplus gas to the local gas company, then they had the coke to send to steel works so three loads of energy from one coke works. Shows where we have to head.
