Adam Hogg Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Hi Everyone,Has anyone get a photo of the flower bed in front of the community centre (the one with roses in) when it was in flower? Also there was a plaque/badge on the stone there as well.If anyone has a photo of the two that would be great.
ex Bedlingtonian Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 As far as I remember the roses are "Pride of Wansbeck" and that is what the plaque said - I take it it is no longer there. I may have a photo in my box of hundreds of photos, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
threegee Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 April 7th 2007 photo here: https://ssl.panoramio.com/photo/1668436Taken by one of our transatlantic cousins - apparently! Google Streetview still has some March 2009 ones, but they look pretty scraggy.https://maps.google.com/?ll=55.131047,-1.595399&spn=0.001613,0.00898&t=m&layer=c&cbll=55.131047,-1.595403&panoid=OaAcx6DZGpmAC-9XFx11Nw&cbp=12,159.55,,2,4.8&z=17
Malcolm Robinson Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Even scraggier now GGG but well worth saving, especially if we can rename them!!!!!!!!!!
Neil Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 I've got a photo of the Olympic torch flower display if that helps?
Adam Hogg Posted February 6, 2014 Author Report Posted February 6, 2014 Thanks Neil, However the community centre flower bed is the place the Bedlington in Bloom group want to focus on and improve as a small area to start with.So coloured photos of it in bloom would be very helpful.
Adam Hogg Posted February 11, 2014 Author Report Posted February 11, 2014 When I now think about it anyone who has photos of Bedlington flower displays pre 2009 (end of Wansbeck district council) please share they will be Very Helpful for the Bedlington In Bloom committee.
