Some Sad News RIP Mike Kirkup

Just been informed that Mike Kirkup great historian and creator of the nostalgic magazine Creeful of Coals which has served  Ashingtonians etc. well for so many years, has passed away. I think we can literally say many thanks Mike your creation has for over 20 years provided us with thousands of personal memories from Ashington people living not just in Ashington but all over the world. You will be missed.

My condolences got out to his wife Lorna and the rest of his family
