Invite A Friend

Featured Replies

I'll be out next week onwards handing flyers out. In the meantime, if anybody wants to help with some site promotion, there's now a really easy way to invite your friends.

Just expand the user dropdown in the top right of your screen, click invite friends, enter your friend's name and email address and then hit "Send Invite".

Who do you invite if you haven't got any friends?

Most of mine are on here anyway

I `ve said before but, why don`t you make a Myspace and Facebook account for Bedlington.co.uk? Loads of folk use them to promote their forums and pubs etc..

With Facebook, you would have to start a group...but that`s easy enough.

After your suggestion I've started running a facebook ad (using £250 worth of voucher codes found on the net) at 2p a click, targetted at people within 25 miles of Cramlington, Morpeth and Ashington. I can't target Bedlington directly due to it beingoverlooked again. I've emailed the Facebook devs to get them to add us :)

By all means feel free to create a group if you think it will help but I'm not sure how effective facebook groups are for promotion personally. Unless I'm missing something, a facebook group would essentially be a duplication of what we have here with less functionality. If you look at the majority of groups on facebook they are groups of people who are already friends from other avenues. The group is created, there is a bit of chat, and then it dies off.

Visitor numbers have been growing steadily over the last few months, once we get some flyers out (expecting them Monday) and I contact local businesses and organisations things should build even faster still.

You'll also be pleased to hear the County Council's Locality Development Officer for Bedlington has taken the initiative and accepted our offer of an editorial account.
