ex Bedlingtonian Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 Everyone be careful what you are doing with your Credit Card on the web. On Monday I visited this website http://www.acaiberryexclusive.com/ and entered my credit card details, but changed my mind about making a purchase and exited the site without completing any order, or authorising any transaction. On checking the card account on line yesterday I found that a small (£3.72) charge had been made from "focuscleanse".I queried this with the card company, and they initially told me the card had been used, as the chip had been read. I knew I had not even been out on Monday, and the card was with me. I also knew that I would not have used the card for such a small amount, unless it was on the internet. If you Google "focuscleanse" you will find many similar complaints worldwide, and the BBC Watchdog programme is also taking an interest. How many people would have even noticed such a small charge, or bothered to query it if they had.
Mr Darn Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 Web of trust is a handy website to check before entering details:http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/www.acaiberryexclusive.comIts not foolproof, but has alot of websites marked as either trustworthy or bad...
