The explanation is both simple and embarrassing: we ran out of HD space late last night!

This has accelerated our plans to move BCOUK to another, currently grossly underused, machine with a much bigger Hard Drive. This should improve the response times for locals too. A few weeks maybe; meanwhile we will watch the disk space issue carefully.
