Just want to say thanks to the guy with the huge bobcat who has spent almost all of today going around the hazelmere estate clearing the snow away, right down to the tarmac. Doubt he works for the council so its a tremendous gesture of community spirit to spend his time and money making other peoples lives easier.

Yes, I'll second that. Nothing was too much trouble and he's done a lot for people round here. This is the Big Society in action. Thank God for farmers.

In NCC's defence, the roads to Cramlington have pretty much been spot on since all this started, apart from after the odd heavy shower, but much better than previous winters.
