tomtom Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 My good lady and I had a delightful meal in this recently opened Italian Restaurant above The Millfield and can strongly recommend the place if you want a good meal in nice surroundings. We will most certainly be going back again and again.....
Ms Hair Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 I agree. We went for a meal and it was good value and pleasant. 2 drinks each, a shared starter and main course each for around £30. The only thing is I think they still have a few issues re service. Lots of staff but they don't seem to know what they're doing apart from the bloke. Give it a try and post what you think. I'd be interested to see how others have found it.

TheMillfield Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) Hi everyone.Just a note to inform everyone on what's actually happening to the place:The guy renting the building from us left on short notice due to problems unforeseen and the pub will be reopening and being operated by the owners in 2 weeks time(hopefully). Sorry for any problems you have had in trying to book meals and i'm sure it will be back and better than ever before in a short time.I'll keep you all informed. Thanks Edited October 20, 2011 by TheMillfield 2
Brett Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) Unfortunate regarding the circumstances. Hope everything gets sorted soon enough Edited October 20, 2011 by Brettly
tomtom Posted October 29, 2011 Author Report Posted October 29, 2011 I notice from the large signboard outside that the new place is going to be called La Torres - billed as an Italian Mediterranean restaurant - perhaps with a Spanish influence - I thought that La Torres translates to The Bulls - or am I mistaken. Anyhow, I wish them well as it was a great disappointment to lose Sebastians.
countrygirl Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 La Torre means ' The Tower" - it will be re opening this week under new management but with the same great chef . I'm very excited as I have missed having such a great place on our doorstep. C'mon guys , give it support - Bedlingtone needs plenty of eateries.
tomtom Posted October 31, 2011 Author Report Posted October 31, 2011 Thanks for correcting my translation - never was very good at languages! My good lady and I will certainly give the place our support.
countrygirl Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Well done - they will need as many people"s support as poss. It was no fault of the new management that they had to close for a few weeks and Phillipo is a very good chef.
Brett Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Glad to hear and I will be dragging the missus down sometime soon for some top quality grub
countrygirl Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 Yaaaaay ! ...... La Torre (ex Sebastian's at the Millfield) is now open !!!
TheMillfield Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Thanks for the support everyone, hope to see you all down here sometime soon!
countrygirl Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Had a fab meal at La Torre last night. Great to have you reopened. Love the new furniture & decor. Fantastic to see Phillipe & Roberto back in place. The king prawns weere amazing guys. !! Also nice to see some old ( or should I say previous ) customers back supporting you.
tomtom Posted November 9, 2011 Author Report Posted November 9, 2011 Good to hear that the restaurant has reopened - my good lady and I look forward to visiting again after the Debastian's debacle.
countrygirl Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 La Torre is now open for Sunday Lunch and we had a lovely meal there today. Roast lamb is my favourite and it was delicious !
Brian Cross Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 sadly La Torre was closed when i was home but i will get there next time i visit..........
countrygirl Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 That's a shame ... Us locals need to support it - it is a great facility to have and good value - main course Sunday lunch £6.95 - terrific value
