Possible Synergy Programme Material: Bizarre Things Your Mam Used To Say, Or Warn You About.

Featured Replies

Dear All

In the coming weeks, from time to time, I`m gonna ask for your help with programme ideas as they pop up in my mind.

What bizarre things did your Mam used to say, or warn you about, when you were young, that stuck in your mind?

Here`s my starter. But for obvious reasons I haven`t made my mind up if I will use it. Especially on a tea time programme:

"Dont sit on that cold step... You`ll get piles"!! :dribble:

As I said please try & keep them broadcastable!

What am I letting loose!

my mother used to say eat all of the crusts off your sandwich or you will not get curly hair .( how wrong it turned out to be )

When I had a cold I was told 'to cough it up' as it may have been a gold watch!

My dad used to say when I looked sad that I looked like 'I'd lost a tanner and found thruppence' (sometimes it was a shilling and and a tanner)

Mam used to say "If the wind changes your face will stay like that" :glare:

My mam used to say: 'Don't throw food in the fire, you're feeding the devil.'

I thought she was daft.

She used to say: " What a bunch of blood-suckers they are." This happened whenever Betty Windsor, Phil the Greek, or their useless brats ever appeared on the telly.

A wise woman!

Always listen to your Mum symptoms !
