July 19, 201411 yr Inspired North East with the support of The Church of England dioceses of Durham and Newcastle has produced a website and booklet of more than 120 churches in the North East of England.Great except no mention in the booklet of our very own unique and amazing church of Saint Cuthbert. The pilgrimage route from Jarrow to Lindisfarne was evidently through our town.Do we accept being forgotten and off the beaten track.Ashington does not get a mention!
July 19, 201411 yr Ashington does not get a mention!I'm sure the MP will soon be onto that one Maggie

July 19, 201411 yr Author There is a website Malcolm.I tried searching on it for Bedlington and we get the a mention but no details about how important our town and church were in the past.Do you want the leaflet? It seems such a huge omission to me.Maybe I am a little biased.

July 22, 201411 yr Author Surely History is not required to participate .It is either of interest or not!We would not exclude say Lindisfarne or Durham.Within the History of Durham Carhedral we are surely important.Part of Durham in Northumberland has to be a story .
