Maggie/915 Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 A boy in Caterham was murdered by a person he met on an Internet forum. (Game) The Guardian today have an article about how he was 'Groomed' on line. (Family Section) Next week the BBC are running a documentary called Murder Games, about what happened. Maybe our children and grandchildren need to be aware of the dangers. We all think we are aware and safe but things are sometimes not what they seem on line. Present company accepted.
Brett Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 So you mean Cameron's porn filter didn't work? 1
Maggie/915 Posted January 26, 2016 Author Report Posted January 26, 2016 No Brett this was simply a young lad playing internet games with his mates in his home town. Sadly one person joined the group and groomed Breck. His mother realised things were not what they seemed. Even the police could not / did not help and the lad lost his life. Murder Games is on television tonight BBC3 at 9 o clock. Anyone with children grandchildren needs to watch.
Brett Posted January 26, 2016 Report Posted January 26, 2016 Anyone with children or grandchildren need to take note of the situation and educate themselves on the dangers on the internet. This will naturally filter down to the children, who from my experiences, generally have unsolicited access to the entire internet, despite recent court orders to filter certain traffic and block sites.
