Why would you be confused?  The truth is the truth wherever it comes from, and I've never questioned Tony's sincerity.  There were many Hampstead -residing, champagne (do what I say not what I do) socialists visiting Bedlington in election years, but Tony was a regular, and steadfastly came because he believed and actually cared, never to simply canvas votes.

I quite respected little George Brown too, despite his obvious problem.  We've still got a few conviction politicians left (like David Owen, who I now greatly admire), but, otherwise than a few senior Ukippers (who certainly aren't doing it for the money or even the glory), they're a rapidly dying breed.
