First & Second Street

My late grandfather was a Hewer at Netherton Colliery.

George Mills lived in Second Street.My late father Ian Mills,Georges son was born in 1920.his elder brother and sister were born previously.My father and his brother worked up top turning the pit ponies around.All three siblings relocated to the south of England prior to 1940.

Any information regarding this site would be greatly appreciated,Thankyou,Gary Mills.

I would expect finding general info, from pre 1940, from existing members of this site would be difficult unless someone had delved into census records etc.

if you created a new topic under the Discussion/History Hollow section you may get more response. Have you used the search facility? if you searched, using quotation marks, for "Netherton Coliery"  under the Discussion section of this site you will be returned all the comments through many topics that have used that phrase.  probably a lot to wade through but might be worth it.🤞

Have just discovered my grandfather resided at number 15,Second Street.Along with my father,his older brother and older sister,together with their mother Evelyn.❤️
