Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) 1,219 Posted September 1, 2016 Report Never found anything on the www to suggest a previous site. Just the info in Wikipedia about the new community school that gives a bit of history :- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bedlingtonshire_Community_High_School Thought the site the ex head boy, Mansel Dinnis, created would have had some facts but it's all photos, the earliest from the 40s : - http://www.sempersursum.co.uk/ I'm just a www searcher - never been to the Woodhorn Museum and Northumberland Archives :- http://www.experiencewoodhorn.com/
lilbill15 60 Posted June 25, 2021 Report @pilgrim @Alan Edgar (Eggy1948), when I passed my 11plus @ the Cooncil Juniors in 1968 those were the schools offered, I went to BGS along with classmate Vivien Joyce, MiBestie Josephine Sumner got packed off to Morpeth. My impression is that it was choice then; decisions were based on travelling costs and parents history; my Dad was a BGS man , played school football with Bobby Charlton.🌈xx
