The photo shows Mr and Mrs Johnson (left) with their Arial car. Mr Johnson was the Manager of the Co-op store at Netherton. At this time he was one of only three people at Netherton who had cars, the others being the Colliery Manager Anthony Scott, and the Colliery Secretary.
