Appeal for help over inscribed stones

East Bedlington Parish Council is currently researching the area’s iron works and railway heritage. As part of this, old stories describe inscribed stones from local buildings, long disappeared, but which the local authority is trying to trace.

@Andy Millne - a member, Stephen Collingwood, on the Bedlington remembered Facebook site posted :- My granny was born and lived in clock house... that stone was above the doorway... when the house was demolished a band stand was built on the free wood side. This stone was incorporated into the bandstand. When the band stand was demolished god knows what happened to the stone'
