It's a bliddy dis-grace. The inside of one of the pockets has gone, the board has a gradient of about 1:5, there is only one cue, which has a yarking big chunk missing from the shaft, there's never any chalk and the cloth on the table is shabbier than a Harry Ramp's overcoat.
Sort it out, Tony Blairs.
Try the pool table in the Market Place Club, it's larger than the standard size tables, plenty different sizes of cues to choose from, table recovered last year and cheaper beer while you're playing.

Here's a few points of the breed,
i think it could apply to quite a few of our human Bedlington Terriers, the breed would not be my personal choice, but it is a very distinctive little dog although not that many living in Bedlington, our shops could capitalise more by selling souvenirs for the many visitors and tourists !!!! : lol:
General Appearance
A graceful, lithe, muscular dog, with no signs of either weakness or coarseness. Whole head pear or wedge-shaped, and expression in repose mild and gentle.
Characteristics
Spirited and game, full of confidence. An intelligent companion with strong sporting instincts.
Temperament
Good-tempered, having an affectionate nature, dignified, not shy or nervous. Mild in repose but full of courage when roused.
.
Ears
Moderately sized, filbert-shaped, set on low, and hanging flat to cheek. Thin and velvety in texture; covered with short fine hair with fringe of whitish silky hair at tip.
Mouth
Teeth large and strong. Scissor bite, i.e. upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth and set square to the jaws.
Neck
Long and tapering, deep base with no tendency to throatiness. Springs well up from shoulders, and head carried rather high.
.
Body
Muscular and markedly flexible. Chest deep and fairly broad. Flat ribbed, deep through brisket which reaches to elbow. Back has natural arch over loin creating a definite tuck-up of underline. Body slightly greater in length than height.
Feet
Long hare feet with thick and well closed up pads. Pads sound and free from cracks or horny excrescences.
Tail
Moderate length, thick at root, tapering to a point and gracefully curved. Set on low, never carried over back.
Gait/Movement
Capable of galloping at high speed and have appearance of being able to do so. Action very distinctive, rather mincing, light and springy in slower paces and slight roll when in full stride.
Size
Height: about 41 cms (16 ins) at withers. This allows for slight variation below in the case of a bitch and above in the case of a dog. Weight: 8-10 kgs (18-23 lbs).
Note
Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum

Yes I remember the Top Club and I remember it burning down. I went into the new Top Club when it was first built and I have been in the present day Top Club but that is not what I am talking about. If you go down the hill on the Choppington road there used to be a pub, its not there now but I can not remember its name.
I am refering to the early sixties (1961-64)
A bit before my time but was it the Tankerville Arms ?

Yes Barnes was a fruiters, I think I have remembered the name of that shop, it was Hardy's I think.
Hi Pete you're right, it was Hardy's, i think it was owned by a brother and sister. The shop has stood empty for years up until a couple of years ago when the propery was sold and has been converted into two flats.

Heres one for you:-
whats the crack with home helps and maids?
i mean, they have to enter your home to clean etc, so technically thats their work place, does that mean all these old dears have to go outside? when does it become a workplace? just when the maid is there? or all the time?
what about plumbers etc? does their workplace have to be smoke free too?
I know certain local councils have asked their tenants to refrain from smoking in their homes for at least an hour if they are expecting a plumber etc to call to carry out a repair, although they cannot enforce this.
Wansbeck Council have not implemented this policy............yet !
Also district nurses have the right to ask patients not to smoke in their homes while they are visiting, this may probably be the case in other visiting services providing home care.
Wansbeck Homes?
in Talk of the Town
Posted
All council tenants in Wansbeck were balloted in March last year to see if they were for or against a large scale stock transfer to Wansbeck homes a new registerd social landlord ( housing association) governed by the housing corporation. Wansbeck Homes will be working in partenership with Cheviot Homes. The tenants voted for the transfer which will release money that would not otherwise be available to the council to modernise and bring their homes up to a high standard.
The tenants of the properties over the past couple of years have been invited to roadshows and been kept up to date with regular newsletters. The council also refurbished 3 empty in properties, 1 in Bedlington 1 in Ashington and 1 in Newbiggin to give tenants the chance to see what kind of improvements could be made to their properties.
The film played in the council offices was not shown on the t.v as it only affected Wansbeck Councils Tenants, who were all sent a copy of dvd.
Monday was the launch day of Wansbeck homes and all housing staff and tradesmen from Wansbeck Council transferred over to Wansbeck Homes, they are no longer employed by Wansbeck Council, Bedlington is the head office for Wansbeck Homes, although there are two small offices for tenants in Ashington and Newbiggin.
Hope this helps.
