  1. Micky, Thanks, and I had originally thought that. However, the letters clearly state the Chapel would be opening in 1845; the Church you mention has a date stone standing to the left of the door that is dated in the 1870's, hence my confusion.
  2. Hornet....Coal....Aristotle?
  3. What on earth is that?????? I know - it's what the Alien came in!
  4. When were ou last in the Tavern? Perfectly decent pint of John Smiths, and the house rum is rather nice. Even the alien agreed.
  5. Oh, they already have. The Blue Bell is open again.
  6. I'm afraid i'm not up on the replica market, but I have seen replica's offered; i'll have to pass on that - who's it by, when, and what's in the back?
  7. Good one, that. If it's a genuine 1969 McLaren M6GT it's a very rare beast indeed, but that's the question - is it an original, or is it one of the many replica's? The square lights don't look right.
  8. I am of the opinion that a man cannot have 'just one pint'; it's not possible. As for the alien, that was a curious day for a bunch of us were having an early afternoon pint in the Tavern when in walked the Alien, with film crew in tow. We all pitched a bit in to the story, and were pictured at the bar supping a pint with the Alien. The landlady then posted a copy of the picture on the wall with the caption 'Spot the Alien'. She had a point.
  9. Looking at some info means it must be the Typhon? 2004? Had never heard of that one, I must admit.
  10. whooooooossssshhhhhh! ?
  11. I met the Bedlington Alien. Had a pint with him, in fact, and a picture taken. He was a sound alien, him. For the banner, the dog and a train must feature, nails too.
  12. That's if they can all park at once!! This I agree with, but when was the last time you visited a market that had any quality?
  13. That was you??? It all makes sense now! We were deciding whether to moon you from the window of the 'Tavern but much more interest was provided by the antics of a geezer in a white Mondeo who'd been clamped outside the old garage! Great idea, but what about focusing on the historical sites in the town? Morpeth takes great pride in its history while Bedlington seems all too willing to forget its own. Good luck, and look forward to the results.
  14. The back end of a bus! It's a TVR of some sort but I sort of lost count when they started introducing tons of different models.
  15. That's my point Monsta - what is the definition of a 'supercar'? Earlier - much earlier - you implied that an extortionate price had to be part and parcel of the deal; I reckoned not (after all, as a vehicle depreciates does it stop being 'super'?). Now you reckon if it gets to 60mph in less than five seconds and has 480 bhp its a supercar. A late 60's hemi Cuda could match that but, like the Jeep (Jeep - a supercar???) try getting it around a corner. Surely a supercar is something that is designed to the very highest echelons of performance, handling and so on? Surely sticking a big engine in a very ugly and rather ungainly off-roader (well, supposed to be off-roader) doesn't make it a supercar? Your thoughts?
  16. I'll have a guess - LP500s Anniversary edition, 1988?
  17. No they don't; they buy in a chassis/body combination and also the engines, and put together what is a Porsche but with additional or supplementary RUF parts. They don't design the car at all, but use Porsche models as a basis. Their own website tells you this (not having heard of them, I looked them up). As said, it's just like AMG who take a base Mercedes chassis/body and add their own bits. I'm very impressed with some of their performance claims, however; these things must be very, very light indeed.
  18. Right, so how many stallholders will be able to park there at one time and unload/load their stalls and gear, I wonder? One, two, ten? Sounds like a recipe for a big traffic jam to me.I shall have a look later when i'm down that way.
  19. No, it's a Porsche but tuned and souped up.They don't build it, or change the engine, or anything, they simply customise it. Just as an AMG Mercedes is a Mercedes.
  20. What ones at Morpeth? Last time I looked there were three or four. I don't know what the problem is, just what i've been told. Interesting about the loading bay - where would that be?
  21. So it is a 911 then. Just lightened and souped up.
  22. Is it too much to ask for. quite simply, a market in the market place? I have heard, however, that stallholders are not going to take up slots in the new market places as they are not permitted to take vehicles onto it.
  23. Never heard of it!!
  24. The ony 911 replica I know of is the Covin, but that doesn't fit with your clue!
  25. I don't know about you but i've just spent a good part of the last hour reading these and consider them a truly fascinating insight into the age; they deserve some publicity, and thanks to the owner for allowing their publication. One thing I want to know - and if anyone can help me I would be thankful - is the writer talks of building a Chapel (he was a member of the very new Free Church of Scotland) - where was it, or is it?
