  1. Anyone else experiencing sign in problems?

i've tried disabling ssl1 in internet options and unticking the 'check for server certificate revocation' but for some reason i keep getting an error.

    error code: 81000306

using the messenger troubleshooter shows no problems, and the status says i'm connected to the .net messenger service.

    Any ideas?

Had the same problems myself using Vista.

  2. In which case the filter is unlikely to be the real cause of the problem, but the swap has improved the s/n ratio just enough for now. (Note that doesn't necessarily mean that the new filter is any better than the old, just has slightly different characteristics in your circumstances.)

Your modem/router probably has a line diagnostics page. You need to watch both the downlink and uplink s/n figure. This can vary wildly with the time off day and will likely be worse after dark. A low figure is bad and likely to coincide with the intermittent problem, a high one good.

yer right????????????? all sounds like a load of jargon to me like & I thought I was quite computer literate.

  3. I have Windows XP using BT broadband I have burned loads of CDs with Windows Media, Real Player etc. but none of them could be played on an audio machine.  I know about the Red book system, but it seems unless you are prepared to spend a lot of money on programmes such as Nero or others you can get no further than just playing the CD on your computer.  Has anyone done it without buying a programme?

just found a site for you where you can download Nero which I happen to use myself & it's good & it only costs about a fiver. so here you go hope it's useful. http://2008-version.com/nero/ Latest version also.

Good Luck. & get yourself down the Dun Cow for a swift one after you've got sorted.

  4. I installed Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 for a one-off job to edit a collection of old cine films which had been transferred onto DVD. I had various difficulties with the Roxio software, in particular the Drag-to-Disk function. One problem was that it seemed to have disabled the function within Windows which originally copied pictures to CD, ie. ‘Copy to CD' in Picture Tasks. Now that I've finished the editing job I decided to get rid of Roxio and I have uninstalled the whole suite including Drag-to-Disk (using Add or Remove programs in Control Panel). I'm left with no way of copying pictures to CD because the ‘Copy to CD' function has not been restored to the ‘Picture Tasks' Menu. Too much to hope for I suppose.

Does anyone know if I can reset the ‘Picture Tasks' Menu to restore the original functions? I'm not keen on reinstalling Windows XP if I can avoid this. Help would be very much appreciated.

I could be wrong but sometimes when you uninstall stuff it comes up with something like. One or more programs share some of the items you are uninstalling. If it said this then you may need to reinstall roxio then when its say this again then select the items you uninstall. Not sure. Without actually seeing the problem & having a fiddle I'm not too sure but you could try it. It won't harm anything I suppose. Good luck.

  5. We've got a group of buskers coming along to play at the Dun Cow, everyone welcome. Bring your instruments & have a go. It'll be a great night I just know it. Saturday 3rd o May. Get in sharp though coz I think it's goin to be full up.

& if you've got talent why not share it. But if you haven't then just sit back & enjoy.

    See u there. Hopefully.

The cellar is undergoing a full refurbishment. New coolers lines pumps. The lot. But as usual the brewery have let us down & it's not taking place until next Tuesday 6th May. So it will be complete for next weekend. Sorry to all those real ale drinkers just waiting to try it.

Two new real Ales. Strongbow Cider & also Sanmiguel.

  6. It's a bliddy dis-grace. The inside of one of the pockets has gone, the board has a gradient of about 1:5, there is only one cue, which has a yarking big chunk missing from the shaft, there's never any chalk and the cloth on the table is shabbier than a Harry Ramp's overcoat.

    Sort it out, Tony Blairs.

get yourself to the Dun Cow man. The table in there is mint. Loads o chalk too. & accordin to the crack the beer great. So come on down. The price is right too.

  7. eh

ee sorry had a couple of reds to wind down after quite a busy night. I think the terriers are funny lookin. I remember when I was 16 & had a boyfriend in London, as you do like. I was staying with him, & his parents of course & I went to get into bed this night & the bloomin terrier had poo'd in the bed. Couldn't believe it. Poo's just a bit like a poodle if you know what I mean. Couldn't help but laughin when we found some under the pillow. Guess it didn't like me. Bit strange like that a dog can poo under the bedding never mind the bloomin pillow. Maybe the parents didn't like me eh. Ha ha

  8. Here's a few points of the breed,

i think it could apply to quite a few of our human Bedlington Terriers, the breed would not be my personal choice, but it is a very distinctive little dog although not that many living in Bedlington, our shops could capitalise more by selling souvenirs for the many visitors and tourists !!!! : lol:

    General Appearance

A graceful, lithe, muscular dog, with no signs of either weakness or coarseness. Whole head pear or wedge-shaped, and expression in repose mild and gentle.

    Characteristics

Spirited and game, full of confidence. An intelligent companion with strong sporting instincts.

    Temperament

Good-tempered, having an affectionate nature, dignified, not shy or nervous. Mild in repose but full of courage when roused.

    .

    Ears

Moderately sized, filbert-shaped, set on low, and hanging flat to cheek. Thin and velvety in texture; covered with short fine hair with fringe of whitish silky hair at tip.

    Mouth

Teeth large and strong. Scissor bite, i.e. upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth and set square to the jaws.

    Neck

Long and tapering, deep base with no tendency to throatiness. Springs well up from shoulders, and head carried rather high.

    .

    Body

Muscular and markedly flexible. Chest deep and fairly broad. Flat ribbed, deep through brisket which reaches to elbow. Back has natural arch over loin creating a definite tuck-up of underline. Body slightly greater in length than height.

    Feet

Long hare feet with thick and well closed up pads. Pads sound and free from cracks or horny excrescences.

    Tail

Moderate length, thick at root, tapering to a point and gracefully curved. Set on low, never carried over back.

    Gait/Movement

Capable of galloping at high speed and have appearance of being able to do so. Action very distinctive, rather mincing, light and springy in slower paces and slight roll when in full stride.

    Size

Height: about 41 cms (16 ins) at withers. This allows for slight variation below in the case of a bitch and above in the case of a dog. Weight: 8-10 kgs (18-23 lbs).

    Note

Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum

  9. Hi all,

Just wanted to let everyone know that The Dun Cow in bedlington is under new management. We took it on about 4 weeks ago & closed it for a couple of weeks while we cleaned & decorated it. Everyone welcome to come in & have a look see. We're introducing a bar food menu. Things like Nacho's & hot roast beef sandwiches. We'll soon also be serving real ales. Once the brewery get round to putting in the new fonts.

We've managed to collect a few eggs for the egg run. But due to short notice we won't be winning any trophies.

We're having an egg hunt this Sunday @ 1pm so bring the kids & chill out in a nice friendly atmosphere.

We're open to any suggestions that might make the place work for all. It's a really nice community local.

We look forward to meeting you all so come along & check us out.

  10. for your information as long as youve got a pub licence anybody can runa pub as long as you do ur two week management course

Actually I've just taken over The Dun Cow & it's now my second pub. I have a personal licence & haven't as yet done a two week training course. The guy at the Lion is working for someone else as far as I know. So he's the manager. John Reed had the lease the last I heard. So he probably got the job based on experience I reckon. The two week training course you mention doesn't always happen but Punch Taverns prefer you do one before signing the lease.

  11. Check it out guys and gals, Tom is taking the banks on head on!

    "Court Battle In The News"

just so you lot know, i got awarded a few hundred pounds today after 2 letters to my bank, the first stating i was intending to take them to court if no offer was made, then, after a standard reply from the bank saying 'no' i sent a second saying i would disregard the last letter and give them 28 days to make an offer before i handed the matter over to my solicitor.

i can prove £1,200 of charges, and they offered me £750 to settle, which, when you think the charge was fair, just the monitary amount was excessive, means i am better off now than if i had given money to a solicitor or went with a 'no win no fee' £200 + 20% deal...

what do you lot think? shall i accept it or wait and see what happens with tom?

    Poll closes on Friday@12 midday!
