  1. Hoping to visit Bedlington, sometime next year, has anybody got any suggestions on where to stay and where to visit. We intend to retrace the family roots and maybe rediscover some of the old relatives, photograph some of the old places and see the sights. (if any of the Moore/Cowell/Swinburn/Taylor family are still about, would love to hear from them) cheers Rebecca
  2. Have just joined the bedlington.co.uk, as i am tracing my family, Mam and her family lived in Beatty rd., In fact several of the family lived in Beatty rd., The Moore family. Madge and John and their kids, Mary ann.b.1903, Charles, Dave, Madge,John, Vinny Ridge, Mathew, william and Irene born.1926 lived at 21 beatty rd., till 1930 then they left the villiage to come south to Portsmouth (Grandad was injured during the war and was in the military hospital at Portsmouth so granny and all the kids evenutally came south to be near him.) But other members of the family stayed on in bedlington, including Uncle Adam Moore who lost a leg down the mine,s I think he lived at No4. Beatty rd. Have lots of old photos but sadly don't know all of the names. Have decided to go north next year and visit Bedlington, so I am trying to do my home work now and get as much information on the area and see If I can find some of the rellies who still live there. Would love to hear your memories of Bedlington and beatty rd.
