I tried out the new path down the picnic field this weekend. Good idea to stay safe, away from the main road and a lovely walk too.

Hi
Can anyone recommend a handyman service? I'm looking for someone to fix some skirting, coving and hang a door.
Thanks

Does that include the land to the side of the Riggs that belonged to the farm house - an environmental firm was spotted on the land this week?

If they are staying up surely this means bad luck as it is well past 6th January?

How about a multi-purpose sports shed type thing - which could be used for local teams/clubs of any sport to train indoors, hired for kids birthdays etc

New Millfield restaurant in Bedlington. I know. We r looking for somewhere to eat this weekend and I fancied the Millfield, but I couldn't find any info. I might mention the lack of advertisement if we go.
I think this is putting us off going too - wouldn't mind seeing some info about before we decide - very puzzling

Anyone know what's happening with the shop? I see it's being done up.

Given that Blyth Cramlington and Ashington have Asda stores already, would regulations allow another one in Bedlington? Didn't we have this issue with Morrisons when they bought out Safeway? It could reduce the choice(?) we have at present, leaving Tesco with free reign on pricing.

Good one Malcolm!!

I thought it was all too rehearsed and neat and I don't think it was really a debate but more of a chance for all 3 leaders to give well-planned statements. I really hate 'sound-bite-speak!' And why bother with an audience at all if they aren't allowed to respond to anything? A bit of an anti-climax, I'm afraid.

Just been to Delaval Hall for an open day. You can view some of the house and grounds and have your say on what you'd like to see happen there. Very interesting and definitely worth a visit - excellent views down to the sea. It's open again from 11-4 - part of Northumberland Residents Festival.

Seems that, according to their map, The Ridge Farm is to be found in the middle of the allotments behind Millbank Tce. In that case, they'll have immediate access to seasonal fresh vegetables so quality food shouldn't be a problem!

We went to Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway on holiday and they've done a similar thing to the original example. The turbine is sited on a farm. The farm is paid rent in the form of electricity and the town takes its share. The surplus is taken up by the national grid and any profits are put back into the local area to provide leisure facilities etc. They also had a leisure centre which was paid for, through huge amounts of fundraising, and built by the people in the town (Kirkcudbright. Some good examples to look at.

Loved it all tonight and thought the atmosphere was amazing - felt just like it used to on picnic days etc. (but not as warm!!)It'd be fantastic to have a proper fair again.
