Rasberry Pi Everywhere!
I just love the completely out-of-the-blue "Maybe because I am Jewish"! You won't do exactly what I want so you must be an anti-semite seems to work on lots of politicos. Haven't heard much from Cherie Blair since her little critique of Israeli treatment of the Palestinians have we? Some guy extracted a sample of one of our budget products once. I think we did get a half-baked magazine review out of it, but we were later ashamed we fell for the pitch! I'm surprised Eben didn't explain what a non-profit foundation means in real English, a concept obviously completely lost on "Steve"!

Make and model always helps. Also what's the actual problem? Those will help any repairer advise you about likely cost and viability, and whether they can take it on at all.

Why We Won't Get A Vote - Again!
On the old political principal to never have a referendum when the vote is going to go against you, the politicos are going to cook up an excuse to go back on their promises. So many past promises, so much hot air. And they wonder why the public is disillusioned with political parties! Political manifestos - no wonder no one ever gives them the time of day! But at least we know how the Tories and the LD's say they stand. How does the Laurel and Hardy act on Labour's front bench stand? Seems to depend on which day you ask them, or which fag packet they are reading off the back of.

Doomsday
It's a law of nature - you never see the BIG event coming! Humans prattle on about largely inconsequential things (so called global warming; holes in ozone layer; horse meat; etc), but nature smiles and does its own thing. A lesson to the anti-nuclear/anti-progress lobby. They make a song and dance about inconsequential levels of radiation, yet nature bombards us with it constantly, and sets off the equivalent of a nuke over our heads without any warning. One day it will be more than an odd few tons of rock and poof - we'll all go the way of the dinosaurs! So they'd better start their protest campaign agin nature right now. Though they would do well to note that the only way we will ever have a tiny chance of escaping is if we intelligently pursue a nuclear future.

Terriers To Vanish?
...though both cowboys and rustling may well be involved somewhere! Even if there was no emptoring - and the board were appointees - then they should have/be doing a substantial amount of caveating! The chairman and his board need to do some quick revision on their legal responsibilities. Here is a good starting place for their revision. Paragraph 11 would be particularly relevant, and doesn't provide for I-didn't-knows/nobody-told-mes. Paragraphs 16 to 20 might focus minds. My original post seems to indicate so. I never watched Blackadder, but didn't it popularise a phrase about planning?

Terriers To Vanish?
It's worse than that merc! He states he was told three times there was no debt. A senior official of a company is required to find these things out for themselves and not to take what others say at face value. If he can't read his own company's accounts, or find someone who can, then he shouldn't have taken the job in the first place! He should be presenting the full facts to the club, and not coming up with excuses that read like a kiddie's sickie! A competent company chairman would call a meeting of members at the first opportunity. In such a serious matter it should probably be a meeting of all club members and not just significant stakeholders. Bedlington deserves better than this!

Serious Vulnerability In Adobe Reader
Upshot is that you shouldn't open any .PDF files that you aren't fully aware of the source of. The vulnerability is being exploited so this is not just academic stuff! Adobe PDF Reader 9.5.3, 10.1.5, and 11.0.1 are all affected, and there are no fixes just yet. http://www.computerw...researchers_say

Microsoft's 57 Varieties Of Security Hole
Hmmm... I recommend a full backup before installing this one. In fact I'm doing that for someone else's machine right now! Reason: I expected a smooth experience, but no! My own very stable W7 machine didn't reboot and went to a black screen with only the mouse cursor. Half an hour later just the same - this on an i5 machine with a top of the line SSD! Rebooted only on the third attempt, and only after a cold boot. Suddenly a Chromebook is looking very attractive, and I'm definitely going to aim at creating a Windows virtual machine to run under Linux, rather than the other way around!

Food Parcels For The Poor
Nonsense! It's a well-know fact that they regularly wreck restaurants in order to (re)distribute the fruits of the earth to their poorer brethren. I vividly recall Lady Dutt-Pauker delivering a charming anecdote concerning one such raid on her favourite Hampstead restaurant.

An on-line Horse Consumption Calculator ==================== A horse is not beef, of course, of course, And no one would eat horse of course That is, of course, unless the horse is the Findus Mr. Ed. Go right to the sauce to mask the horse It'll give you the taste that you'll endorse. He's always in the pasta course. Fork to Mr. Ed. ==================== ...and the best one so far:

Microsoft's 57 Varieties Of Security Hole

Full details are here: http://technet.micro...lletin/ms13-feb The main patches are to gaping security holes - some already being exploited - in Internet Explorer 10 going all the way back to Version 6! Several of these vulnerabilities permit remote code execution. There's also a new version of the MS Malicious Software Removal Tool.

Crash 2 The Sequel!
For once I agree 100% with Soros - it has to happen, but it will happen over the dead bodies of the politicos, and after they've made the situation immeasurably worse. We need to lead by getting out right away and negotiating free trade agreements - keeping the best aspects and ditching the empire building. Cameron's timetable is just kicking the can down the road and playing into the hands of those who accuse the Euro-realists of creating uncertainty for business'. Vote UKIP and let's aim to get our notice on Rumpy Pumpy's desk at the earliest possible moment. It will still take until 2016 to extract us from the mess, even if we were to start negotiating today! History shows you can't trust Cameron anway - even if he were to win the next election. And if Labour were to win we be totally up the creek without a paddle because Milliband and Balls are the most clueless twits ever to lead any party! It's clarity of purpose, or political infighting and back-room deals going on for years.

I Need Your Help With Funds My Friend....
Seconded! I try to provide a core quote when I see something that I think is worth discussion. It's always a bit hit and miss as you never know what will stir passions in Terrierville! I'm still hopeful on Raspberry Pi though!
