Our retired seniorsliving on a 'fixed income' do they get any breaks while our government and religious organisations pour Hundreds of Billions and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries! We have hundreds of adoptable children whoare shoved asideto make room forthe adoption offoreign orphans. AUSTRALIA, UK& UScountries where we havehomeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without needed medication and mentally ill without treatment... etc. YET. . . We still allow illegal "Deprived People"& other free loaders on our shores. While we are lining up with food, clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies. Imagine if the "GOVERNMENT"gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries. with OUR collected Tax-moneys. Sad isn't it?

  7. On his 70th birthday, a man was given a gift certificate from his wife. The certificate was for consultation with an Indian medicine man living on a nearby reservation who was rumoured to have a simple cure for erectile dysfunction! The husband went to the reservation and saw the medicine man. The old Indian gave him a potion and with a grip on his shoulder warned, 'This is a powerful medicine. You take only a teaspoonful, and then say '1-2-3.' When you do, you will become more manly than you have ever been in your life, and you can perform for as long as you want." The man thanked the old Indian and as he walked away, he turned and asked, "How do I stop the medicine from working?" "Your partner must say '1-2-3-4,' he responded, "but when she does, the medicine will not work again until the next full moon." He was very eager to see if it worked so he went home, showered, shaved, took a spoonful of the medicine, and then invited his wife to join him in the bedroom (as you do). When she came in, he took off his clothes and said, "1-2-3!" Immediately, he was the manliest of men. His wife was excited and began throwing off her clothes, and then she asked, "What was the 1-2-3 for?" And that, boys and girls, is why we should never end our sentences with a preposition, because we could end up with a dangling participle.
  8. I resent that Symptoms, right up until someone hands me a stuffed brown envelope........... having said that with my luck it won't be cash and the envelope would have started out white!
  9. NCC got £1.25M (?) off central government to fix all the pot holes in the county. Thats why there has been frenetic action.
  10. So would I Steve! If the services we get are being cut and cut yet the money we pay in goes up and up every year where is the sound economic reasoning? It has to be disappearing into 'non productive costs' such as salaries!
  11. Foregone conclusion? Carter Bar tonight.
  12. Made up of residents, Town Councillors, Leading Link and other community group members the group has been working to improve the aesthetics and visual impact of our Town's greener areas through various floral improvements. All have given up huge amounts of their time and it now looks like their efforts have been rewarded. In one of the "˜specific' award categories, Chester Court Care Home won Gold in the "Best kept grounds of a care, residential or convalescent home." Well done to all involved!

  18. First of all Keith take out this bit...."What if the Council - or whoever is in charge -" coz there nobody in charge. Thats one of the problems no leadership, vision or ambitions for the Town since local government reorganistion in 1972! 1970 BUDC had plans for shopping centre, hotel, sports centre.......all in Bedlington!
  19. Keith, tried to get Wilcos interested in the then empty Elliots Garage, reply, not enough footfall! Saw Sir John giving it the once over too but obviousley nowt came of it.
  20. And it will stay dead tomtom unless more people get off their backsides and start doing things instead of just moaning about things.
  21. "...and thats the type of thing we need to look at and possibly encourage Merc!"......................................... Type of thing Merc.
  22. and thats the type of thing we need to look at and possibly encourage Merc!
  23. In the Market Town survey just been done, on the 12 Market Towns in Northumberland the footfall figures for Bedlington were the worst. (I think!) Market days and non-market days were measured, both figures abysmal. The question no one will answer is does footfall generate a decent market (and for market read shops in general) or does a decent retail offer (i.e. market, shops etc) generate footfall? All the meetings I have had recently about this subject won't answer another basic question, why do you think imposing an 18th century solution to a 21st century problem is going to fix it? Has anyone heard about this internet thingy and home delivery? For Bedlington as a commercial centre to survive it's got to reinvent itself and that will take funding and innovation, not a reliance on 18C business practices and bowing down to the multi nationals. I know this is all going to squeeze together.........sorry its my little pet virus!
  24. Blyth..........
  25. "over 75% of Italian new debt since November 2011 has been 3 years or less. and at least 50% was issued with maturities of less than a year."........................................................................................................ If French borrowing costs go up as expected thats the old one two punches to the Euro!
