Due to the recent benefit cuts etc, I know there will be a lot more poverty locally. I know in Newcastle Churches and the like are setting up food banks etc, but I was wondering if anything like that was happening in the Bedlington area? I have time, but no money, to give and want to help!

Hello, I've just joined this site, and not longed moved to Bedlington so don't really know anyone yet. I have a storytelling business so you might see me doing storytelling around and about. I currently do a weekly session at Treasure Island in Morpeth and will be going into local homes for the elderly from June. I don't really know anyone locally yet. I am really interested in storytelling, creative writing, bellydancing and theatre, so if there's any local clubs or groups, I would love to get involved! Hi everyone, I moved to Bedlington a few months ago and took my storytelling business with me. I've been asked to do some storytelling in local homes for the elderly and am really excited about the opportunity. However, I would love to weave in old rhymes, games or songs from the residents' childhoods into my stories but I don't know any from the Bedlington area!
