  1. I'd say the first takaway in bedlington was the Chinese takaway which was in hirst terrace before the whole street got knocked down I remember my parents saying you can't eat there they it dogs emm there chips & gravy was lush & there chop suey rolls were massive
  2. My dad worked for bedlington council he did have a brother called Davy he worked at choppington pit he used to drink in the Shacie at guide post he was married to an Italian called marchella it could be him they did look like each other

Willy I do know were you coming from all I said was I wanted to go down the pits my mum wouldn't let me as I said in the past I come From a family of miners my grandad died down the pit all my grandma got was a pittance of a pension & a few bags of coal on a lighter note as we are in the EU I thought I'd let you know Poland are after experienced miners if your interested £150 a week & a Polish Dictionary thrown in ! I live 12 miles from there 3G & there is a big difference between Rochester & Bedlington i can assure you of that I know it's not the Weald but there is a big difference & that is a fact...willy! Danny drank in the terrier most nights along with his mates Eddie mount, Aussie Arkle,peter Dickinson my dad etc I know he got a medal from the queen he had a son called Neil who I think he joined the communist party went to school with him I think he lived in terrier close not sure he wore gold rimmed glasses silver hair combed back as far as I Can remember I'm going back along time ago coal fires & all that......
