I saw it too, the Asian was agreeing that if a white man or woman was qualified, against a black man or woman who wasnt, then the white person should get the job... but the black man was saying that, even if the black person wasnt qualified, he / she should automatically get the job anyway...

cant believe what i witnessed on bbc breakfast this morning! there was a discussion about the lack of ethnic police officers, and they had this black man (African) and an Asian wearing a turban. the black one started going on about they should have ethnic police officers to police ethnic streets etc, and how they should give the job to ethnics instead of qualified white people (as a priority). but then the mad Asian with the turban started saying how he had tried to join the police force and got turned down for some reason. then he put the black man to shame buy standing up for white people! the blackie didn't know what to do, he start rambling the same !*!@# over and over! hahaha to make it worse the presenters sided with the packie too! it was mint!

There was a student on the news who said we were all hit or too scared out of our minds tos top him. Another nut job on GMTV this morning saying that this is the reason schools should not be gun-free zones (as they are now) because the teacher or another student would have also had a gun to shoot him down. I am researching my family tree, and have relatives that lived in Office Row in the early 1900s.

Are these buildings still there? Did they belong to the coal board, or who else owned them?

My relative was described as a servant girl, living in office row, but I assume Office Row would not be where she worked, only lived.

Would love to hear of any history of this street, and/or Barrington.

yeah bedlington pit was located there, and i think office row must have been pulled down cause its not on any maps! think it might have been the old colliery rows opposite nettos, try http://communities.northumberland.gov.uk there's loads of old photo's and maps.

apparently you can now buy a collar that sends a shock to the dog if it is misbehaving via remote control. apparently its been tested in the USA on dangerous dogs there, and has been used as dogs attack people to subdue the dog, and is very effective.

unfortunatly its not very nice for the dog, and rely's on the owner making sure battery's are charged, buttons are pressed etc...

not a method i condone tho...

i do condone it as it's a none lethal way of controlling animals! much better than letting them bite some one then having them destroyed! teach them to be more pleasant!! they use no lethal weapons on humans, like pepper spray and rubber bullets!
