Belated Happy Birthday Micky.

As Vic has said the ATC was in Ashington.

If your brother was in a cadet thing in Guide Post it would probably have been the Army Cadets. As I was in the late sixties early, seventies.

The leader was John Quinn (Capt.)

I had to quit when my hair got too long to hide under my beret. If only I still had that problem!

Bedies.

The home of the Army Cadets is on Morpeth Road estate. Still going I believe.

Behind & a little left of the war memorial. Directly opposite the Morpeth Road garage. Google map Queens Head Guide Post & trundle up the road a bit. It`s the white roofed hut on the right.

In my day it was very popular with the cadets Dads: the bar was open before 12 on a Sunday morning!

i can remember john quinn being inthe army cadets at scotland gate i was in at the same time . i also knew ronnie tillberry who was some sort of a officer the hall was in the same grounds as the football pitch .

Well smack my !*!@# and call me Nancy!! my memory is not what it was, Ashington was the place, a single story yellow brick building covered with soot from the chimneys, as everything was back then, he used to go up in trainers from Acklington I think
