Maggie/915 Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 When can we view the new plans? Afterall it is March tomorrow and the role out of designs were going to be available for all to see.
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) Maggie - have I missed something? Do we now need plans to get the wind to change direction. Me mam always said if a was pulling a face and the wind changed direction me face would stay like that! Edited February 29, 2016 by Eggy1948
Maggie/915 Posted February 29, 2016 Author Report Posted February 29, 2016 No Eggy it is just my attempt to be humourous with a serious subject. The article on seafaring terms in the Journal last Monday has a lot to answer for in this title. Basically I hope the 'winds of change' blow quickly for Bedlington NCC and good old Arch. It would be great to see things happen in our Market Place. I hope your mothers prediction is not what happens in this case.
John Fox (foxy) Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Two more months and it's the anniversary of the Make a Noise demonstration, the only thing that has changed since, is the Market Place looks more derilict, however we are almost a year closer to that five year project being completed.
webtrekker Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Sticking to Maggie's 'Wind' theme: 'The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind.' Edited March 1, 2016 by webtrekker
Maggie/915 Posted March 1, 2016 Author Report Posted March 1, 2016 I am staying 'Aloof' It seems when there is trouble in the offing (visible but some way off) . Then it is better to stay 'a luff' (up wind). That way it gives you the option of fight or flight. The title of the article. In the Journal 22nd February was 'How the sea is in our language and our blood', Another interesting word is 'Strike'. To close things down on the ship. Then there is 'Scuttlebutt slang for gossip. All sailing close to the wind.
