Choppington station

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I was browsing through this site recently when I came across a post about the Choppington station sign lying in a ditch. Despite the post last being active in 2013 I have been a few times to look for this including under the willow bridge. I was wondering if it is still there and if so if anyone could point me in the right direction many thanks

That would be this post by johndawsonjune1955 in the Railway History topic:

“Go along towards the old brickworks and the Choppington Station railway sign is to be seen where it was dumped.

its still on some of the stone it was fastened too. will take some work to get it out the ditch tho”

John rarely looks in these days but I think he’s active on other sites. Maybe Eggy knows how to contact him?

Thanks for the reply just thought the sign and the pit tub would make an interesting photo while out on our daily lock down walk
