Guest missvic Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Kielder! There's a castle and new maze (both free) and a fantastic Bird of Prey centre: http://www.discoverit.co.uk/falconry/I like the blue reef aquarium in Tynemouth also... there's lots of fish and amphibians, plus now they've got loads of otters too: http://www.bluereefaquarium.co.uk/Couple that up with an afternoon at St Mary's Lighthouse and you've got a grand day out! Or places up in the Simonside Hills are always nice for a paddle in the river and an excavation of an Iron Age Hill fort? However, if you're feeling a bit adventurous there's offers on http://www.megatrain.com/uk/ that can get you the train from Morpeth to Edinburgh for the day for only £1! Maybe some other places too! Not bad... well, it beats Cambois beach anyday...
