Thank you. I just tried to message him direct.

Can you add this link to the page?

Hi Judi, I really appreciate both you and your sister Sally getting in touch today, and of course I am so sad for your loss. Your Mum had such a forceful spirit, I’m not surprised she managed 91 years before she had to depart.

One of the older patients with me at the hall (older! He was maybe 45!) told me a little homily that I’ve never forgotten - at the end of your life all you have is a bag full of memories, and it’s up to you to make them happy ones. I’d like to think Joyce lived by that maxim, and I know that my memory of her goes into my ‘happy’ bag!

That cut glass, by the way - I was a bit gauche as a young man, not used to personal invites for dinner. I was considering flowers, but then I thought wouldn’t it be nice to give something more personal and lasting. I had a house full of Bohemian crystal, and I thought the bowl was particularly nice, so brought that. I’m so glad she kept it all this time, and hopefully it will now give you fond memories of her through the years.

All my best wishes, David
