Would that be Norah Hopper who married Vic Calvert and they became steward and stewardess of the Market Place Club? Also had a brother, Tommy Hopper, who was, I think, Secretary on the Committee.

Reedy - I've sent a message to JK and updated him on Norah Hopper. Webtrecker - didn't know the Market Place Club stewardess but did know Tommy. I know he was Concert Chairman at the Market Place club for a few years and I first met him on the Civil Service site at Longbenton in the early 70s. This photo, (posted by John Dawson on sixtownships) of committee members was posted on Facebook saying they were all members of the Guidepost social club - don't know if Tommy was also on their committee or just visiting.
webtrekker 233 Posted August 2, 2016 Report Yes, that's Tommy alright. I only knew him from the Market Place club. Norah and Vic used to live in Gladstone Terrace before moving into the club. When they left I believe they moved into one of the old houses at the top of Bedlington bank (The Quay?).
