Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Supporting Members October 16, 20169 yr Author stats Posted the photo, with names, on the sixtownships Facebook site and Colin Sim commented :- 'I don't think nine is Tommy Tyler he went to the council school and also 12 I don't think that's Brian Richmond he was also older than the others in the photo'.
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Supporting Members October 16, 20169 yr Author stats From Vic Patterson - No 25 Rita Whealan ?
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Supporting Members October 17, 20169 yr Author stats HPW & Vic(Doreen) - one name that is not mentioned is Thomas (Tucker) Holmes. His daughter, Christine Holmes, has been attempting to find an old school photo of him and she did post on this site asking about him. HPW replied saying that he and Tommy had gone to the same schools throughout their school life. Is Tommy in this photo?

Vic Patterson Supporting Members October 24, 20169 yr Author stats It would be nice if Jim could share the original photo. It might help identification.

Working on it Vic, but no response yet. Unfortunately most people these days take photos of photos to upload and the resulting image not always in focus. I still have an old Desktop PC with scanner (D11" x H7" x W17") connected. No doubt when I go it will go with me.
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Supporting Members October 25, 20169 yr Author stats Vic - unfortunately - a photo of the original photo is what has been uploaded. I have added it here, without any numbers & names so you can get a 'clean' copy if you want one. If you want me to add the numbers & names to this one just say so and I will do it.
Vic Patterson Supporting Members October 25, 20169 yr Author stats Thank you Eggy, this will do for me, I'll play around with it for now, I've had some success cleaning up old family photo's, like you my desktop is collecting dust, it stopped connecting to the internet but I'm reluctant to get rid of it as it is my back up for pictures and music, it has my photoshop type programs on it etc but one day...
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Supporting Members October 25, 20169 yr Author stats Now for the throwing the spanner in the works bit Vic! Jim Hardy has now posted his list of names that he has sellotaped on the back of the original photo. Naturally jumping back a mere 66 years there are bound to be mix ups with some of the names and there are a few differences to what HPW and your good wife recalled. It's times like these when technology can be thrown out the window. We need a large table, print outs and all people concerned debating, and naturally some alcohol to fuel the debate. I have update the names and will add the revised edition + Jim's photo of the names to this comment. When Jim posted this photo he part of his comment was - 'Whitley Memorial junior 1950'. When I replied and said thank you for posting the original I added, diplomatically, - 'this is the Village School, isn't it?' He replied with the a one line comment - 'Whitley memorial junior 1950'. So even tho it says on the board within the photo 'BEDLINGTON VILLAGE INFANTS 1950 CLASS 2' Jim says different. I'm sticking with HPW and you. I'm still using my Desktop PC Vic, it's the only bit of hardware I have. Mine was purchased a mere 8 years ago, and the 19" screen + large keyboard is wonderful. Just got to hope they see me out! Now the pics - updates to Nos 9,10,11,12,16,19,21,24,25,27,41 & 42 - some just spelling, others a different name :-
John Fox (foxy) Moderators October 26, 20169 yr Author stats Sandra Short is my cousin and thats not her at number 39, so it's either someone is wrong with the name or there are two SSs which i would doubt.
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Supporting Members November 18, 20169 yr Author stats No 39 - Sandra Short removed. No 9 - the photo was posted on the Facebook group site, Bygone Bedlington, and a member - Robert 'Marlene' Bell confirmed it was him.
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Supporting Members November 18, 20169 yr Author stats Vic - HPW - could Tommy (Tucker) Holmes be No 13 or 40?
Vic Patterson Supporting Members November 18, 20169 yr Author stats Hello Eggy, Sorry Doreen cannot confirm Tommy Holmes but she does remember the name, and is certain she is #22 and not #19...
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Supporting Members November 18, 20169 yr (edited) Author stats Photo updated Vic, sorry about that, I must have confused one of the comments when the photo was in the History Hollow topic. No 19 I have as 'Brenda Muckle ?' BUT I have also seen the name 'Brenda Wright' for No 19. Edited November 18, 20169 yr by Eggy1948
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) Supporting Members July 13, 20241 yr Author stats Joan Morland (nee Muckle) has confirmed that No 19 is not her.
