I`ve just found this video and thought i`d share it

Information about Bedlington Bedlington was the capital of a shire attached to the Palatine of Durham until 1844. The church's dedication to St. Cuthbert refers to the night in 1069 when the Durham monks, carrying the saint's coffin and in flight from the Normans, stopped on their way to Lindisfarne. A plaque on the King's Arms Hotel marks the birthplace of Sir Daniel Gooch, born in 1816, who laid the Atlantic cables in 1865 and 1866. The extinct Bedlington Iron Works produced the first rolled iron rails, used by George Stephenson's locomotives. . Bedlington terriers were bred here for badger baiting

Hi Bedlington town peoples. I'm not from your neck of the woods nor have I visited....YET! BUT I do have a 6.5 yr old Bedlington Terrier....does that make it any better Nah...thought not. Anyway I am interested in what goes on in Bedlington My fave place in the world is England...and my next trip will be to Bedlington as I want to see the area....and alot more besides Have a great day people.....and Merry Christmas....may it be a good one!

Hello, My name is Stacey and my grandmother grew up in Bedlington many many years ago. She left and came to America in 1914. I'm trying to find any people that have the last name Brewis or Dixon. Possibly they could be my cousins. My greatgrandfather was burried in the Bedlinton Cemetary and I was there in 1988 and saw his grave. It may not be there any more. it just would be interesting to see if there are any people still around. My grandmother names was Emily Brewis, she had a brother named Fredrick Brewis, and so on. He lived in Bedlington for many years after my grandmother left. I know they lived on a farm named Brewis Farm. Don't know if that is still around. I also have a friend there whom I have not hear from in many years. Her name is Margaret Criags. She lived by the cemetary I know. I have not heard from her may since the early 90's. Something to bear in mind when you are subjected to the constant pictures of melting ice, and people living in precarious river deltas etc., is that the BBC Governors have decided. They have decided that there is now no need to make a pretence to balance. That lots of scientists hold a quite different view is something we are not to be burdened with. So the tree-huggers at the Beeb are given full reign, senior staff can no longer steer the Corporation back to a middle of the road view. Time I think to get rid of the BBC Governors and replace them with a democratically elected board properly representative of the people they serve. Meanwhile beware of the BBC propaganda. It's all to easy to led into the belief that there is incontrovertible proof of global warming. That all dissent is now silent, and that there are only flat-earthers left. In fact quite the reverse; more and more thinking people are speaking out to question the hysteria. If you want a balanced view of what's going on then you could do a lot worse than visit http://www.thegwpf.org/who-we-are.html These prominent people aren't on the government payroll, and they aren't on the payroll of energy companies either! And kids, don't believe everything you are told in the classroom. Your teachers are following the government line - or worse! To get at the truth you'll have to start looking into this for yourselves. It's not easy, but you'll find that the junk you are being fed won't stand up to close examination, and that your teachers could be very wrong!

The BBC hasn't had governors for almost three years. The Board of Governors was abolished in place of the BBC Trust and its activities are overseen by a Board of Trustees. It is not within the Trustees' remit to determine the day-to-day editorial policy of BBC News. Vacant positions at the BBC Trust are publicly advertized and open to competitive application by members of the public. Errr...yes they are! This is Lord Lawson's outfit, barely a fortnight old, which has recently come to public attention following the release of e-mail communications at UEA. It can hardly be described as balanced - it merely promotes a mirrored agenda to those who affirm climate change as a result of human activity. This is the same Nigel Lawson who, from 1995 -- 2003, served as President of the British Association of Energy Economics whose activities are heavily supported by BP and Royal Dutch Shell and other such companies. Many of the other GWPF members (a lot of economists, I see) are also involved in front organizations lobbying on behalf of oil companies (especially Ian Pilmer.) As an academic and scientist I quite agree, but scrutinizing the truth from the junk is a tricky business and depends heavily upon whoever performs the examination.

Great video Cympil. I wonder how many people in the crowds had travelled from Blyth / Ashington / Morpeth etc to be there. It's a shame we don't have events like this anymore.

Oh, Leek shows! I remeber my Dad, Jack Cunningham' won loads of stuff at those. Once he won a stereo 'radiogram' with turntable in a teak cabinet at The Wharton Leek Show. It was state of the art at the time. I also remember that he often won the same prizes in several shows & my Mam would say 'Oh, Jack, not another bloody canteen of cutlery!' and she'd stick it in the cupboard with all the others.

There is a community meeting next Thursday at 6.30pm at the community centre. Everyone and all ideas and suggestions welcome..................
