  1. I would just like to point out that Youth Disorder is not confined to the North East of England ....Disorder is a world wide problem I know in this part of the world you see it every weekend especially when the Pubs/Clubs close and a minority of people want to carry on in the streets and where ever, police do a great job but they are understaffed due to cutbacks on wages. we could do with another 10 to 15 uniformed police officers on the streets to discourage unruly behavior by everyone not only the young in our population.

  2. The maxi freeze building is used, and owned by people in London. As for the rest of the empty properties on the front street or wherever are any of these viable,or even large enough for McDonalds, without major refurbishment? Also their frontage and signage would not be allowed on the front street also all properties are too near residential domains to get planning permission. So basically this is a non starter! Are you in the employ of Mcdonalds? If so I suggest you continue serving burgers and give up fighting their cause, don't believe for one minute you'll get any thanks or medals for doing it!

  3. I have just read in the News Post about the fair people of Ashington not wanting their leisure centre to close, it will close in October according to the report. There is a suggestion that the a 'new' one will be possibly built, and they state that a Town the size of Ashington needs a leisure centre, can the canny folk have a look at how long we have waited for our leisure centre or indeed any leisure facilities and we are just as big as Ashington, so before any money is spent from our 'one' council we should be at the top of the list for a leisure centre or any consultation of where our money should be spent. Also there was a report on the One North East and the investment on the redevelopment of the old Asda site and within the town centre, if my memory serves me right it isnt long ago that the town centre was done with pedestrianisation and such like, a new bus station area, etc etc, will One North East look a little South of the Wansbeck border and see us here and maybe help redevelop our centre with grant funding
