Well I blame just about everything on Esther Rantzen (Beelzebub's agent on Earth). Most of the ills in this Country (and maybe the World) can be traced directly back to her and her founding Childline and her proselytising of kids' rights. Picture the scene: little Jonny or Mary caught nicking from the old Granny up the street (after giving her a good tuning), parents attempt to punish the nippers (no telly tonight), kids say "Oh no you don't 'cos we'll phone-up Childline and report you for cruelty and/or abuse, scared parents back-off saying "OK, but don't do it again". And so the World goes down the shi*ter

All I can say is thanks to the council, they actually listened to our requests, I rang the council yesterday and asked for the roads on our estate to be ploughed because we couldn't get out of the estate properly, well they came out today and did it, so well done....also seeing you on the main street gritting footpaths and clearing snow makes us think you are actually listening to the residents, well done.

I find this thread pretty unbelievable!what a load of FAT! People demanding fast food readily available for their kids! In such a climate of fat people and so much education in the media about fat deaths and costs to NHS because of such fat people I cant understand why more fat food should be sold around here. Many thanks but unfortunately the research highlights that we already have the right number of stores for this area and that by adding another we would be unlikely to generate further sales without impacting on our surrounding restaurants. I would have to advise that unless the site is in a 'perfect' position, i.e. located on major road network and with a high surrounding population, that this is unlikely to be one we would progress with. I would just like to point out that Youth Disorder is not confined to the North East of England ....Disorder is a world wide problem I know in this part of the world you see it every weekend especially when the Pubs/Clubs close and a minority of people want to carry on in the streets and where ever, police do a great job but they are understaffed due to cutbacks on wages. we could do with another 10 to 15 uniformed police officers on the streets to discourage unruly behavior by everyone not only the young in our population.
