    Hi everyone Name is Bill Johnson, born in 1948 in Blyth. Left school in 1963 to work down Bates Pit, married a Bedlington lass in 1969 & moved to Bedlington & have lived here ever since, apart from a spell in the Army from 71-74. Had played in a band called Merlin from 1965-1971 moving down to London in the last year (super memories of the band). Left the Army & went back down the pit, Ellington this time. Also some great memories & some great friends, finished as an overman in 1989 and drove artic's until I retired in 2013. Nearly forgot.... along with George Bowey we formed 'Bedlington Juniors Football Club' in 1984 starting with 2 teams & taking the strength up to 8 teams before I left in 1989. Just love Bedlington.
