  1. With Xmas just around the corner I was thinking of what I would like at Xmas. I don't need or want much but here is my list. Most important first. -Have my family around me (two son's, daughter and grandson) -Have a good Turkey dinner (it will be good as I will cook it) -Pair of slippers -Box of chocolates (1-3 boxes to hide under the bed) -A couple of winns at Predict The Premier would be good -A night out at The Station Club (I know that won't happen) So there's a couple of things
  2. I used to do that too Pete. I also used to like to ride the swing gate after the train had gone by. The signal man used to bang on the window at us but we always did it.

    Who have you seen?

I saw Roger Whiticker at a shopping centre in Calgary, Alberta in the 80's and by chance got to talk to him about his song Durham Town, he said he wrote it while going to Durham University and said he loved his time in the north of England and loved the people of the north.

A few more bands I saw during the years: Triumph E L O Black Sabath Kiss Slade,,,, at Newbiggin Beach, anyone go to that one.
  20. I was wondering if the swings are still their, on the south side of the river blyth. Went there a lot as a kid and loved it. We had to get to it by either going over the bridge or through it and had to run from the train a couple of times, scary. I had only one accident while playing there. there was two swings and me and mi mate Tetti swung at the same time and hit each other in mid flight, i let go and fell in to a blackberry bush and had to be carried home bye my friends. Good times.........

I have to agree somewhat with mrs vic that Frank Zappa is not for everyone, little rude with the words in his songs but as a kid we listerned to it all the time and went to see them in concert, our seats were so far back and so high up we could touch the roof of the arena. Frank Zappa and his band looked like little ants on stage. Just wondering what concerts you lot went too, here are a few of the bands I seen: Rolling Stones Journey Kansas Eddie Money, all them at same concert early 70's in Buffalo USA The Who Rush Max Webster Saga Goddo Van Hallen April Wine
  22. Hi Ken, I went to Westridge for only one year 1972-73, not in your time frame and really liked going their. used ti go hang out at the cematery at lunch and got shot at by some lad with a pellet gun at the bottom of the playing field, also used to have snowball fights with the Catholic school kids. Good times
