Yes, Of course the Vette was a Dream Car, 350 cubic inch and 327 hp, I had it up to 140 once on the Atlantic city expressway, I drove it 4 years then sold it to buy a house, I had a yellow 69 Vette as well that had been wrecked on New Years eve when I bought it and I made thousands selling it out for parts.

my first car was an Austin westminster that I bought from a morpeth policeman, 1965 it was, very fast 6 cylinder, my brother nicked it one day and took it to scotland, he threw it into overdrive at 80 mph and blew the gearbox, it was sitting in a farmyard with chickens living in it last I saw it!! then a Ford Cortina, 1969 I think, I gave it to my Dad when I left England and My brother got his hands on that too. I moved to USA in 73, 1st car was a 1971 Chevy Corvette, nassau blue with a white convertible top, now that was a car!! after that a 67 ford Mustang 327 with 3 on the floor, then a big 71 chevy suburban, a 69 vw beetle then a 76 vw rabbit, 77 chevy suburban, 78 toyota celica, 83 chevy suburban, 85 Buick Le Sabre, 87 oldsmobile cutlass supreme, I have a 92 Chevy sportside 4wd pickup with only 50k miles on it, also a 2000 chevy Bazer 4wd SUV with 55k miles, and a 2003 chevy Monte Carlo which I drive every day that has 60k on it. I probably missed a few, but they were forgetable I guess.

Back in the 60,s and 70,s the pit heaps were used as a giant sliding board, we used to get an old piece of conveyor belt and curl up the front bit with our hands and off we went, the bad part was when you went over a hot spot that caved in and you got burned!!! the real challenge was going off the station heap which seemed to be twice the height and much steeper the the dr pit. walking down the drift was another one of our dares, I never made it to the bottom but some lads claimed they did, it was full of muckle size rats!!

well since you havent replied then you must be busy which is good I guess, the village at barrington disapeared quite fast and we used to spend our days in those fields of gold around the rows finding birds eggs in the hedgerows and just layin on our backs watchin the clouds roll by, and we used the aad hooses as camps, it was really wonderful to live in those times wasnt it?? send is a line if ye can. aye man aa knaa wot a texas smoker is, I use an aluminium box about 4ft high by 16 ins square with about 10 shelves, a tray below that to hold a box of wood chips and spices etc with water, whisky or bourbon, and an electric heating element below that, I use fruitwood such as apple cherry or pear for flavor, I cure the fish or meat with salt and that will release most of the water in an hour or two which is drained off, then season with any spices you fancy and coat with a good helping of brown sugar...stick it in the smoker overnight at about 100 to 110 degrees farenheit and its ready to eat the next day, if its fish and its filleted right you wont have many bones at all. this way the meat is fairly dry and it flakes nicely in your hand, I just finished two 7 or 8lb steelhead trout that I caught in lake Erie Pennsylvania the week before and everyone who tried it loved it

Hi There Wooley, I remember Humford well from the 60,s and if you were,nt careful the bullies would push you into that pool with all the green slime at the far end !!! they never got me but I saw it happen and the kids had to hose off before they went back in the pool, that was even colder!! the walk down Church road to humford was always fun in the summer, no computors back then we had to make our own fun

Hello land Lady, My brother and I and 2 freinds got nabbed by the policeman for drinking underage at the Dun Coo back in the 60;s it cost us 30 Quid in fines total what Shame we brought to our good Family name!!!!! back then there was a booth for women to drink in, not allowed in the bar.. I may have the record for being served underage, I was only 14 !!! and I was the one who paid!! Anyhoo...
