We went to Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway on holiday and they've done a similar thing to the original example. The turbine is sited on a farm. The farm is paid rent in the form of electricity and the town takes its share. My head teacher says the school only closes when the snow's 7 foot deep. Only 7 children turned up for our afternoon Nursery session. Spent the afternoon building snowmen and having snowball fights with 4 years olds.

We are holding a shopping event on Thursday 9th November at 6.30 pm in St Bede's Parish Hall to start our fundraising this year. The school has had to make the children's adventure playground out of bounds due to safety issues. New equipment is needed and a play surface will cost a sizeable amount of money. This, and several other events, will help to raise money to reopen the playground and give the kids somewhere to play in the winter. So come along on Thursday and see the wide range of stalls including our own Silver Cells, Phoenix Cards and Thorntons Chocolatiers.

St Bede's is celebrating its 75th anniversary on July 5th. There's a display in school, and any past pupils are invited to come along on the 8th. If you've got relevant photos etc. the school would love to see them. Do you know any past pupils?

Not seen it yet. Most people who have think the same as you. Did it cost all of the money set aside for improvements? Or will there be some left for useful things?

Went into the Market Tavern to ask for a raffle prize donation for my son's school. The landlady was very generous not like some other places we tried.
