But, the MP will say that it's a matter for the locally elected officials - and he'd be right! The fact that those councillors are from the very same party as him... well... fill in the blanks yourself!

Fact is that the sorting office is at Ashington, as they closed the Bedlington Station one. Something which hasn't helped local business at all. Not the only thing they've closed in Bedlingtonshire either!

It's reported that Robbs (established 1818) is being closed down by company administrators, with the loss of 150 much needed jobs. Quite a blow for the people out there, and more traffic on the roads I think.

Yes, we are aware of the problem and will be working on it this week. It's probably a timeout or buffering problem. Unfortunately there are still a few day jobs to earn a crust, so we can't spend more than 20 or so hours a week on the site - though the tiny it of sponsorship so far has gone a long way.

If you click on your My Controls and then select Edit Profile Information under the Personal Profile menu header you'll see that you now have a Gender selector.

This isn't set for other than very new members, so please go set it to avoid any confusion - of which I note some recently. The correct pink or blue icon will then show in the appropriate places, and you'll no-longer be a sad grey.

You may want to review some of the other setting whilst you are about it. If you are not on UK time then it's fairly desirable you check that you've selected your correct time zone and daylight savings time settings too, else the times on the site won't make much sense from your perspective.

There is no longer just one galley, there are four. One is for pictures of the general area (not just the Town) - which are to be auto-resized and displayed on the homepage - soon! The other is for people and events. The third, and fourth are for whatever strikes anyone's interest.

Additionally, albums can be made private or shared with a selected group of members only. There's no requirement for any albums to be publicly browsable, and of course members can now create multiple albums.

Lots of historical stuff about the place has been taken away. So, this is also an opportunity for it to be scanned and restored to our heritage in electronic form.

We are about to create a new class of Bedlington.co.uk member. Current thinking is that this will be called a Contributor member, though this is open to suggestions.

Contributor members will have five times the disk space that ordinary members have. To become a Contributor member you'll need to create at least two albums in the galleries, or have one album and a Blog. Both must contain some worthwhile content - just creating a Blog and a near empty album won't qualify!

Before Blank points out the obvious, can I be the first to mention that the question doesn't necessarily have anything to do with religion at all.

Fact 1: The Bible is a book.

It's not even a Christianity exclusive - the whole "Part 1" is embraced by a quite different religion.

And, followers of that quite different religion have been the first to make rather a lot of money out of the stories in the "Part 2" they don't believe in!

Being antagonistic towards other people's sincerely held beliefs is behind all the World's problems. Both the Islamic suicide bomber and the British right winger inciting racial hatred are out of the very same mould. They're intolerant because the have a strong basic need to believe in something, but at root they're very uncertain of what they've latched on to, and are at a loss to find anything else. In trying to vocally convince other people they are actually trying to convince themselves!

Undoubtedly the road to Damascus. It's always the most vocal 'antis' who are the least certain of their beliefs, and so the easiest converts. The totally apathetic - like me - are the only hard cases.

No, they're not! They're a party of the middle class South East, and long gave up on diehard Labour areas like Wansbeck as a total waste of effort and logic.

That's precisely why thinking people in Bedlington have never had any proper representation.

As noted above, the local Labour faces are surprisingly decent (and frank) people when you get to know them. That's their strength, and why they get elected again and again. But, the reality is that, as career politicians, they long-since sold out to a severely bent system.

The real tragedy is that (in private, at least) they are the first to admit that the system is severely bent!

John Major, James Callaghan and Winston Churchill all took on the post of PM without first being elected.

1. Winston Churchill was elected to head a wartime coalition of all parties by universal agreement. If Tony has started another of his wars then he should at least have the decency to tell us!
   
2. None of the above's predecessors got elected on the manifesto promise of serving a full term.
   
3. There's no longer the pretence of not being able to gauge public opinion without a formal election - it seems that even a majority of Labour diehards think that this is all wrong!

Note that only the Video gallery will accept albums with multimedia. Each member is capped at 10MB t the moment, but we are considering upping this considerably OR having a "Contributor" class of membership which has at least 50MB of upload space available.

I wouldn't use that adjective - ask for what you are due, no more and no less! Other than that will be read as weakness. You have the great advantage of knowing the banks current policy, so don't give them the counter advantage of knowing that you're not fully decided. Remember, you are just a minor irritation to them, and the very last thing they want is the publicity.

Stick the court papers on them at the earliest possible moment. As long as you do your homework, as others have, it will pan out OK. It's a well-worn path, with plenty of help on the net. Life is nothing but risk, however this one scores rather low.

Tony Blair is about to announce that he's going soon. This even though at the last General Election, and in the Labour Party Election Manifesto, he promised to "serve a full term".

He has now made it clear that he's anointing Gordon Brown as his successor. Should we be forced to accept this [Vote Yes], or should there be a General Election [Vote No]?

This could be a big mistake. The banks make their money from people's inertia, and it sounds like they are reading you right too. The longer you leave it the easier it is for them to claim an implied acceptance, and where would you be then? Are you then going to take them to court fighting on their own ground? The other matter could take years to settle in the courts, and probably will!

The best advice is already in this thread, but it sounds like you are talking yourself out of doing the necessary.

It's intended to display a processed version of the Bedlington Places Gallery only on the homepage - real soon now! So.. any member can put their own pic on the frontpage, quite automagically. If the wilder members of our community behave (Mick) this will be without pre-approval - live dangerously I say!

The software is now much improved on what we had even a few weeks back. It's no longer necessary to reduce your camera/phone pics, you can just bang them up from your browser. So, I expect to see a lot more contributions.

You can choose which Gallery your new Album belongs to, and you can create multiple albums. You can make them private or public at will, and you can even password protect the private ones, or specify exactly which members can view them - excluding everyone else.

The public galleries are now truly public. i.e. anyone visiting Bedlington.co.uk can view them. So you might want to review your Public/Private settings on some of your albums.
