I've had nothing new for 7 years, I've still got one of those huge tv's and its not even a flat screen one. It's had a purple spot on the screen for about a 1.5 years now but I wanted to wait till I moved from my flat to a house before I bought a new one so I could get the correct size, so anything will be an improvement. People have already told me to get LED rather than LCD as this is much better.

Any one got a new 3D TV? Are they worth the extra money?
-
All I am happy to report that after two years on the market I finally sold my flat and moved into my new house on the 1st of April (didn't want to jinx it by posting this earlier). I sold through Mike Rogerson and bought through Rook Matthews. Still little niggles here and there, but I plan on never moving again. Fingers crossed for all of you out there stuck in places you can not sell.

I agree Merc... it was Louise and her brother who took it over, after Brian Young died a while ago.
I had not heared anything about a female death? It wasn't Marge was it?
It is true that Louise's Husband died not too long ago. Sad times for the family, you can understand why she would be finding it too much now.
Anyone got a copy of the News Post Leader from a week or two ago to confirm its up for sale?
Yeah it was Marge I was taking about. She was a friend of the family.

Heard a rumour that the Spar is shutting. Any truth in this?

If i had the money spare to buy it outright, yes, i'd have a crack at it!
As for "up for sale" i believe the asking price is to buy the current landlady out, and pay for fixtures, fittings and stock. it will still be under punch (i also believe thats who runs it)
Since i dont, and theres no way i'd deal with punch (i had dealing with them at The Dun Cow) then its totally out of my price range.
Apparently "family curcumstances" is the reason???
I know that the previous Landlady died last year and I think there were some people running it temporarly till they sorted out everything before they could put it up for sale.

As one of my posts last year, I contacted Weatherspoons who said that the Red Lion was too far out of the Town for them to be interested. I hope that the posts in this threat are right cause Bedders needs some sort of kick start.

I have recently bought a Dell netbook with Ubuntu on it and it has a programme on called Pidgin where basically you can use msn messenger on (as you can't use this directly). This was all working fine until messenger had a new release in Decemeber.....now I have no access to Pidgin. According the guidance on the net I need to download and install a new version of Pidgin however, having tried this you need to firstly log into the update manager on ubuntu to received downloads but I keep getting error, downloads can not complete.
I have no idea how to get round this as I don't really understand computers............Can anyone help?

Deleted a couple of weeks ago from my Sky+............Load of rubbish now and seems to be all about CID....Watch the repeats on Alibi if you miss the old one.

A lot of the post above mention its cause the kids of today have nowhere to go.........What about Blyth, Ashington, Morpeth do they have the same probelms as Bedlington seems to have? Cause those kids all have lesuire centre's to go to!
Also with the issue of respect even 10 years ago when I was at school I was disgraced with the lack of respect others seemed to show and its just getting worse. I say bring back national service for anyone with and ASBO!

Looked on the net and can't find anything helpful.......It's so annyoing I need to find them (and yes I know the game is only 3+, but I still can't do it).

I think Moby Dicks is the best, they do lush cod bites and an awesome chicken kiev pizza.
And its also owned by Mr Moby !*!@#!!! (according to one little lad on Bedlington front street, who shouted at him at the top of his voice "Hello Mr Moby !*!@#")

I have my place for sale up with all the estate agents in Bedlington and was wondering what other peoples view of them were.
Yes I have had my place up for nearly 18 months now but the communcations from the estate agents are less than adequate.
I have heard nothing for over a month now from Mike Rogerson and Rook Matthews Sayer....I have heard from Moon's as I contacted them following a viewing with still no feeback from it. Pattisons send out a monthly print in the post as to how many people they have issued the details to.
Come on Estate Agents get you act together, most people would be happy with a call or letter (like from Pattisons) to say something even if there has been nothing happening. It is in your best interest to keep us happy, after all you will get paid if you sell the place.

I have to say that the '3 Gees' were awsome on Friday night at the Market Tavern......It was like the good old days back at the Balance!

A copius ammount of brandy with vodka chasers is why. Never again. Did we have a good time?
Yeah, apart from the peeps we were with.
JB was rocking!

Hmmm... more people claim to have been there than the capacity of the place...
A much more impressive list would go as follows:
Sleeper - Newcastle University
The Fall - Some grotty folk club in Leeds
The Boo Radleys - Also Newcastle University
Blur - Mayfair, Arena and some festivals
Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine - maybe Trillians...
Tenpole Tudor - Trillians again... eek
The Super Furry Animals - A number of times, usually Newcastle University
The Kaiser Chiefs - a load of places in Leeds before they became the Kaiser Chiefs
Belle and Sebastian - Numerous venues
Future of the Left - downstairs at the Head of Steam... still have tinitus
Steve Harley (minus Cockney Rebel) - Possibly the same venue as the fall
Stephen Malkmus - Manchester somewhere
Jonathan Richman - in a cathderal
The Apples in Stereo - Possibly the best gig ever, somewhere in town (where one apple was dressed as Evil Kineval)
Shed Seven - the Riverside, punched Rick Witter
The Shins - Same place in Manchester as Malkmus, but a different night
Morrissey (and every Smiths tribute band going) - All over the country
Numerous Brit and Swedish Pop bands, whose name I have since forgotten, in venues that no longer exist
Sadly, the list never included Menswear... suppose I could just tell everyone I saw them at the Mayfair though?
Mmmmmmmm MrsVic how could you forget that awesome night at Manchester watching the 'D'!!!!!!!

Thanks all.
Think i'm going to wait till pay day and hopefully there will be some cheaper offer about then.
Also got and email back from Grainger Games apologising for their crap service and a £10 voucher is coming my way (still doesn't really make up for the £30 I could have saved not shopping with them).

Thanks guys for all the advise (although I don't understand a lot of it). I may just get the TV I was looking at (a Samsung UE40B8000) and buy a speaker system to go with it rather then a 3D Tv. Cheers
