    Its interesting to hear these tales of Ned Metcalf. I know there's now a blue plaque on the wall of the old Gardener's Arms marking the spot. Does anyone remember Ned's daughter, Lily? Lily was my wife's great-grandmother. She married a Wilfred Ogglesby and had two children, Ted and Belle. Any memories would be appreciated.

    Hi. After browsing a few of your interesting discussions on here I decided to sign up and say hello. I have been researching our family tree and it turns out my wife has a number of connections in Bedlington and some of the members may have some recollection of places and people that fit in with her story.
