Famous People
Many years ago when I lived down South the wife and I and some friends, made a vist to an old Rock/Pop area called Eel Pie Island , and on the way back we called into our friends local for a quick pint, the landlord told us to hang around after 3 pm closing time and let all the punters go, this we did and about 30 mins later there was a knock on the back door, it was opened and in walked all the original four members of the Who, including Keith Moon. We were not allowed to take photos or ask for autographs, they were suprisingly subdued, but very plesant.

Famous People
Have ever met anybody really famous?, I'll kick of with this, during the mid 80's whilst working for the Newcastle Breweries, I was entertaining trade customers in the Newcastle United, Blue Star bar, I got into a conversation with a guy, who was wearing a cloth cap and a Newcastle Brown Ale t-shirt, he insisted on buying me a drink, as he was at the bar a work colleage informed me that I was talking to Brian Johnson from AC/DC, he was great, very down to earth, and good fun. I also sat next to the great, late Chas Chandler, for a whole season at St James's park.

I've used Forresters many times , they are excellent, reliable, and reasonably priced, they represent why we should support our local industries

Nnnyyyaaaahhhh Idiot Parents
The entrance to St Benet's is an terrible accident waiting to happen, both teachers and pupil families vehicles, exit from the school when there is a clear sign inside the school entrance clearly stating "NO EXIT" . Sadly, nothing will change, unless the school wakes up and realises that..... I dread to think.

Like; The New Outdoor Gym Down The Woods.
Not wrecked but they've already had a go, I exercise my daughters dog on a particular pathway, and apart from the fly tipping, empty beer cans, old bonfires, off road motor bike riding, dog s..t and the new equipment, to me nothing has changed, the sports equipment, aren't secure, the holding nuts are fully exposed, and could be dismantled in seconds. I was there on the day the equipment was being installed, the supplying company were Lincolnshire based, I also met a couple of Northumberland county council "officials" they told me that NCC were spending up to £52k on the local pathways, WHAT! £52k ....we deserve better protection for our money.

Just To Say Hello
Has anyone been to the halfpenny woods lately?, great idea to install gym equipment along the pathway. However, the yobs have already had a go at the equipment, would be nice to see more rubbish bins, perhaps halfway up the pathway. Hopefully the council will not let the area be spoilt by fly tippers, and the vandals, they should act now......

Just To Say Hello
Hi, Everbody An update on my recent rant with the BBC complaints department re no North East chefs on The Great British Menu programme, they replied "we will come back to you" I'm still waitng!!!, I also asked why the chefs cooked with Foie Gras, their reply, was a great body swerve around an answer, " you ask, will our chefs continue to cook with Foie Gras that decision lies entirely with them as professional chefs" So in other words go away. Just To Say Hello
Have to come clean, I was born in Chesham Bucks. However, have lived in Bedlington a lot longer than down South, only miss my old friends and family. My interest in mini coopers started with my first employment, I took an apprenticeship with a Car conversion company called Alexander Engineering they were a Haddenham (Oxfordshire) based company, I'm still in touch with an old working colleague, that's from nearly 50 years ago. Brian, I think a decent Mk1 mini would set you back at least £6-7k, if you like mini coopers have a look on the web site "Mk1 performance " I blog under the name of Uncle Bernie. Hey guys, look forward to further chats, will let you know how I get on with the BBC complaints department Hardy

Just To Say Hello
Hi to everybody, not Bedlington born but lived here nearly 40 years, allotment holder, Toon supporter, and interested in the history of the 1960's mini cooper. Take great pride in reminding the press, and TV producers , that the North East Of England isn't in Yorkshire.. My latest gripe has been the representation of celebrity chefs, representing the North East Of England, on the cookery programme the Great British Menu. The judge for this particular episode was from Linconshire, one chef came from Lancashire, another chef from Yorkshire, and the third chef was based in Kent!!!!, I have contacted the BBC complaints department, to say that I felt that the contestants did not represent the North East, and they could have considered chefs from Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, and Durham, there must be some great chefs in the North East, so let's see them.
