  1. I think the Magna Carta quantifies my view.
  2. Maggie, the point we were making is that EU expansionist plan was not modelled on one mans ideas for world domination. I assume you're referring to Hitler. The creeping plan for the EU to hoover up nations and create this European Superstate, was very influenced by ex-Nazi Industrialists, nothing to do with Hitler. It just happens to be them, whether they saw this as a way of continuing their power in Europe, or as a golden opportunity at a time when Europe was very fragile. Whatever their reasons, they are very dangerous people, check out one of their biggest guns, IG Farben. If things continue in this way, every member nation (apart from Germany & France) will be a slave to the union. Not being allowed to make their own decisions on governance of their own countries. Britain belongs to us, the people and should never be ruled by a foreign power. Maggie, we have to stand up, and be brave enough to stop this from going any further. I make no apology for sounding very patriotic, but I am. I love this country.
  3. I have the DVD too. But it's a great link for us History buffs.
  4. Does that mean I can apply for Albert Pierrepoint's old job then. Sedition at that level is High Treason. So I am sure they may have need of me.
  5. I agree with everything you just said GGG, especially about Tony Benn and how the ex-Nazi industrialists set the whole EU cess pit up. I am reading TB's Biography at the moment, and it's all in there. Keeping wages down is the most useful tool, not only in the EU unelected slimeballs box, but in the Labour movement. Both organisations pretend to champion the, 'fairer wage for all' fight. Plus, the 'Standard of living' crusade, but I think they are happy to keep this status quo whilst pretending otherwise. If this situation didn't exist people wouldn't need to always look toward the Labour charlatans as their only salvation. Being fed regularly on a diet of, 'Oh my god, socialism is our only saviour', guarantees these two unsavoury organisations a large following. Because, and I include myself in this, (as I was one of them for 47 years, then I woke up) they believe the constant stream of lies they are told. Tony Blair and his wife must have had many a laugh at the expense of the lower classes as they saw their bank balance growing at an obscene rate, He knew he would always run off into the sunset to a luxury position somewhere else. Economy ruined, country in a pile of debt, left to fight two wars that he helped create, and cut our military down to the bone to cope with it. JOB DONE!!.........As the Blair's disappear over the horizon with a big Grin on their faces. I think there is a serious case for the whole Parliamentary Labour Party to be brought to court and face charges for what they did to this country.
  6. That's not quite true Tony, that's not what he said because I was watching it. He was asked the question by Andrew Neill: "If the Labour party or the Tory party asked you to enter into a cooperation agreement, not a coalition, but a cooperation agreement, what would be your price"? Nigel's reply was simple and straight forward. "A full, free and fair referendum on our continued membership of the European Union, as soon as possible". Those were the words that were spoken, I know because I recorded the interview. Nowhere did he mention 'a few seats' or that he 'would sell his soul'. You see, putting a Labour spin on things that you would have liked him to have said, doesn't work anymore. The public can see right through it, and twisting the real words that were spoken only increases our following. The people are not stupid. We will get the seats, make no mistake, and you will just have to take the pain.
  7. Nice piece of local embryonic musical history there Symptoms. Can't say I heard of the bands you mentioned apart from The Lynx/Middle Earth. really nice guys, we never played on the same bill but knew all about each other. I was the bass player in a band called MERLIN, a 5 piece with Doug Haley, keyboards (Hammond Organ) & vocals, Harry Bryzinski, lead guitar. myself...Bill Johnson, bass, Colin Hall, vocals, Des Long, drums. We played everywhere in the North East ie: Mayfair, Oxford Galleries, Quayside, Rex Hotel, Whitley Bay, Freemasons,Stanley. etc.etc. But never Bedlington, apart from the early day's debacle. There were just no gig's in Bedlington at that time (late 60's) for groups like us. The clubs wanted the Vance Clayton Trio type group. However, we did go down to London in 1970, with the promise of a recording contract which never came to anything. What we did gain from our year down there was the chance to play some of the most famous places in the music business. The Marquee, Ronnie Scott's, The Temple, Hatchets. Residencies at The Factory in Leicester Square and The Scotch of St. James. And many more, also some nice tours, the last one being a tour of the North East to allow me to wind down and leave the band after the last gig at the Domino. Anyone who doesn't believe any of this can look it up on Google or Wikepedia. By the way Symptons, the agent you went through in Newcastle at that time was probably 'Tappy Wright'.
  8. Eggy I'm not surprised he can't remember, he was drunk as a skunk. The band was called 'MERLIN' and I think he persuaded our lead guitarist Harry Bryzinski to let him get up and sing a song. I wasn't too keen on the idea as it was my last gig with the band, and I didn't want anything to spoil it. The band went back to London after that gig. Sad moment for me, but I had a wife and child up here and they came first.
  9. Keith, all we are asking, is give UKIP a chance. We have nothing to lose, hell things cant be any worse, but the country will be starting from a clean canvas, so to speak. One thing is certain though, we will get our country back, The party is also engendering an ethos of making MP's accountable to their constituents. They elected them, and they can de-select them. Something the other parties don't offer. By the way, anyone reading these posts, we at UKIP Wansbeck will need all the help we can get over the next 7 month's. So anyone wanting to get involved, you will be very welcome.
  10. Ah Maggie, what we would give for a time machine.
  11. Ovalteeny, didn't Lynx change their name to 'Middle Earth' or was it the other way round?
  12. And the rise will continue, there is no going back for us. For me there is only UKIP, and then there is nothing. OK Tony, glad I didn't mention Ulgham.
  13. I have come to the conclusion that Labour will stoop to any depths necessary to stop the people of this country having a say in the running of this country. Apart from all the underhanded things that they have done, the total disregard for Jim Dobbin, the man and his family as they pursued an agenda to get the by election secured for the same day as the Clackton by election says it all. You cannot get any lower than that. On the Grant Schapps performances, isn't he great, probably the best recruiting sergeant we could have wished for. If you lined them all up.....Comeron, Milliband, Clegg, Shapps, Gove, Balls, Osborne, etc. etc. you could not bet on who is the biggest liar. Fortunately, the people are not fooled any longer. Now they have an alternative that they never had before. The message is to Lab/Con is..........We are coming................And we are coming to get you
  14. Syptoms, you say you were In a rival band to the Lynx, what was the band called that you were in? We knew them well in the late 60's, even though they were very Small Faces orientated, and we were very Zep/Hendrix orientated, we knew each other very well. They regularily came to our rehearsals, and there was a mutual respect there, Can you remember their bands name before they changed it to 'The Lynx'. They were all good guys, and Stuart will be fondly remembered.
  15. You're right about his 'non whingeing' about the EU Tony, that's why he fought so hard for the in his debates with Nigel. He obviously his his own agenda
  16. GGG it wasn't just the Labour tactics that won them Heywood, we have it on good authority that more than 2000 Lib Dems, knowing they had no chance of doing anything, voted with Labour. This was a deliberate tactic on their part to stop UKIP at any cost. Had they voted Lib Dem, we would have taken Heywood. The future is there for all to see.
  17. Watched the Rodney Atkinson spiel (forgive the German inference, a commonly used word by the English. In German spiel actually means 'game') absolutely spot on GGG, Just goes to show what you can come up with when you do a little research. Better than putting your foot in your mouth like our esteemed Labour MP, Mr Lavery in the House of Commons during Prime Ministers Questions. How embarrassing was that, he may speak for Labour, but he certainly does not speak for me.
  18. Don't forget about Nick Clegg's Spanish wife, who by the way works for the EU in Brussells. Maybe he should have a word with her about Spanish boats entering British territorial waters off Gibraltar. Trying to provoke an international incident, what are they playing at? If we get heavy with them, the PC Bandwagon will immediately side with the Spanish and we will be all bad guys. We used to be a strong nation that always stood up to anyone who tried to take a swing at us. Then the PC slime slivered in under the door and found it was easy to get their way, so they took more and more, because our weak, lilly livered governments allowed them to. It's time to stand up to the bullies, like our forefathers always did.
  19. Dave Holland, or 'Holly' as he liked to be called got up on stage with us and sang a song at the Domino during our last gig in the North East. That was in 1971 Eggy, ask him if he remembers that night.
  20. The claggy mat is always the first thing I think about whenever the Dom is mentioned, but I had forgotten about the Red Barrel and the chunky glasses. Yes it was crap, and it's a wonder no one got a hernia carrying the glasses. I was treated to Champagne there once though on my 21st birthday. My pal bought 3 bottles, he had money and the rest of us didn't. He even went off and squandered quite a few quid at the tables. To us he was rich, his dad had 2 shops and a coffee bar (Carlo's Coffee Bar) in Blyth. Lucky Git, but if I remember rightly, the champagne didn't taste any better than the Red Barrel. I guess our ordinary working class taste buds weren't suited to such posh luxuries.
  21. Looked it up Keith, I didn't know this subject had already been covered or I would have thought twice about starting it up. It's just that it was such an important part of our lives in the 60's and 70's. I had my 21st there in 1969, and I played my last gig with Merlin there in 1971. before the band went back to London. Really happy memories for me. My apologies to anyone who has had to put up with repetitiveness.
  22. Keith, looked at that youtube site, wow, looks like a tribute page to Maggie Bell. Hazell was great to hear again, strange how you forget how good these things sounded. Will certainly be back there to hear a lot more. A treat for me to hear 'Stone The Crows' again, they were very good in their day, the epitome of the progressive bands. More of them: Nice, Family, Coliseum, Tull, Vanilla Fudge, Purple, Cream, Floyd, Hendrix and many more, but you can see where I'm going with this. real music from real musicians. Not a 'Boy Band' in sight. AAH, but it was heaven for me.
  23. Great start though Eggy, quite a list of stars you mentioned there. I bet it triggers a few others memories, pity nobody collected the posters advertising the acts every week. What a trip down memory lane that would be. Maybe somebody has and may come forward when they read this. How long did it take to start speaking to your mates again, I mean. that was damn selfish pulling those two birds off you. I can imagine you were just being friendly letting them help themselves.
  24. Before you blitz me, I know, there should have been another 'a' in champagne.
  25. I'll get it started............The Peddlers, Amen Corner.........walking across a sticky floor that nearly pulled your shoes off.
