I had a search, in 2014, of the www to see if I could find the answer to Jim's query about the Bedlington Railway Station having been built in Sleekburn but couldn't find any info.I did find a comment on the East Bedlington  site but did not take a copy od the pdf document I just posted the following reply to Jim's posting :-

Not very clear from the Google aerial shot but I think a few headstones can be seen.

Thanks Karen.  Although Gooogle Street view doesn't go up to and past The Foresters Arms (and I never got past The Foresters)  the Google aerial view shows what I would say used to be St Peters - based on the semi circle block paving at the front of the building and a 1921 map.

I'm definitely wrong CL - I should have spotted that the church image I checked was all brickwork but I just though West Sleekburn would only have had one church. - I'll blame Foxy. Does St peters still exist? I can only find Church lane in West Sleekburn - no church.

Just noticed your comment @Rigger and I would say as you look at the photo Shiney Row on the left and Doctor Terrace on the left.

I can't help you @Anne Gilbert. I never worked in the pits. My granda, Martin Henderson, born 1894, and a couple of my uncles, Martin & Luke worked at the Dr Pit but they lived in Haig Road then Beatty Road.
