I really would like to say something about this but I can't cos I don't live in bedlington anymore but I am in a trade union & I do believe in them. people come up to me at work just because they want a row, they can't argue with management because they are frightened in case they lose there jobs but union bashing is free.dont forget the union is only as strong as it's members..I no for a fact in the the past Union members broke ranks for there own selfish gains.what I do say to them what do you want to do about it if they have a problem 95 percent some do nothing cos there frightened of there shadows & that's everywhere north & south....

Kieth no it wasn't Pringles I'll try & get the geography right, beside what you call monkey islands which went across to the hapenny woods there was an area we used to call the little woods it was about 1-2 acres & stank of wild garlic.if you past them woods you would come onto grassland if you went back onto the main path & walked about 50 yards down the house was on the left side of the road I Even think bedlington council took it down before they started to clear the shrubs etc..

I vaguely remember when I very young there used to be a farm in the free woods opposite deanview west I think the guy was called Hunter. I remember the house as a derelict house.I think the council took it down, anyway he grew lots of fruit & rhubarb was in Abundance I remember my mother asking us to go & pick some so she could make her pies.it costs a fortune now, some of the older Members might recollect the farm & the guys name

Canny lass! When he says hotel,it's sounds like the o is missing its hard to explain you probably need to here him say it. Sometimes he takes the mikey out of my accent, all in good jest, I give him it back though I'll try to explain he says it really fast Typical toony.its like hot-el but he says it fast as the o becomes shortened hope that makes sense. Remember my grannie Would say polace instead of the police & she used to roll her r's as though she was trying to bring phlegm up she did make me Laugh

My mate from Gosforth insists it is dialect, what he said its pit yakka talk I agree with him on this one. As I can tell his a toony by the way he speaks if I spelt it as hotel in your mind that is the way it would come out in your Reading that's why I spelt it as hoe-tel as you know that is not the correct way to spell it."so it comes out as dialect". I have read the Geordie dictionary, that gives you the Pharases in Geordie then the meaning in English ??????
