  2. I'm also sitting on the fence Pete, I worked for many years on many types of generators, here's another view.
  3. In most UK power stations there are four generators rated at between 500-660mw, how many wind generators do you think it will take to replace even one of these machines? There's a lot of green wind out there but they haven't done the sums. Nuclear and/or fossil fuel will be necessary for many years to come. http://www.bwea.com/edu/calcs.html
  4. I live in a council property, a very small one bedroomed bungalow with an ancient heating system. My heating costs are remarkably higher than the 2800 sq. ft. house I occupied in a much colder region in Canada. Am I to suffer extra costs on a property I do not own?
  5. The school, I believe stood on the site of what is now Binks(?) haulage, although there seem to be other operations within the buildings. Many of the 'posh' houses being built at Red Row are on the land previously occupied by Taits scrapyard. The others are on the site used by Thorntons, who have had workshops on both sides of the road.
  6. Flogging the old flageolet does have an affect.
  7. Originally an American trademark, escal(ade) + (elev)ator, but I suppose that's easier to remember than moving staircase or inclined plane elevator. Using american words are you Denzel? ...... very naughty ..... LOL
  8. We look at others’ faults through a magnifying glass, but we turn the glass around when we look at our own! Church members are especially susceptible to this sin. We are very zealous for the traditions and good name of our church. I'll pass on that one father.
  9. What is the connection with Woolman?
  10. Just for you, an elevator. Brians comment is very valid.
  11. A.D 1801 Steady the path ordained by nature's God And free from human vices, Wheatley trod, Yet hop d no future life-his all he liv'd The turf he grazed his parting breath received And now protect his bones; disturb them not But let one faithful horse respected rot
  12. why not feed your horse some elderberry or blackberry, and colour match the horse !*!@# on my street with the purple crap birds leave on my car?
  13. An active member rolling on the floor, lovely, wading in verbal excrement, we do expect that of you and are never disappointed.
  14. That could be true of your miserable Yahoo group.......lol
  15. Well said Joe, I wish I could express myself as well as you. I remember. the disgusting few who destroyed tthe original forum, maybe they are still at it? Do you remember the disrespect on this topic Joe?
  16. You don't know the half of it Joe, according to the 'Council' Bedlington is now classified as a deprived area, litter and !*!@# are a major problem and also many complaints about rats. CK's uncaring and cynical attitutude is probably typical of the town now.
  17. It has come to my attention that you are something of a corker.....pmsl
